How are robots programmed to assemble cars on a assembly line?

Does a human have to do it first with special gloves, then the robot copies it or how?

They type in all the steps into the machine.
Like e.g.
1. Move 5 inches to the left
2. move 2.34 inches up
3. turn on welder
4. move 4 inches to the right
