Do you think that 4th of July contributes to Global warming problems?
Answer:
No, I don't, but you would think that alarmists would. Gunpowder does come from charcoal, which means you will have a release of CO2, even though it's not a fossil fuel. So, the GW people are OK with the indiscriminate release of previously sequestered carbon?
No. That smoke doesn't interfer with the Ozone layer. It does contribute to overall pollution though.
Unless the fireworks are made from fossil fuels (they're not) then they are not going to contribute to global warming. Have fun and go blow stuff up!
Think about the NASA rockets that penetrate the ozone layer expelling enough chemicals to destroy it and then look at your firework smoke again. How much altitude did it achieve?
Yeah it sure does contribute and do you think that somebody cares? It adds because the the fireworks release a big quantity of CO2 and if you are referring to the ozone layer that is over New York i have to disappoint you and tell you that in there is non left they contribute in all the ways.
And lets not talk about the particles that are released in the atmosphere and then they end up on the soil and pollute it physical, they soil becomes a bit acid and next year a bit more and that is why everybody uses lawn grower solutions.
There are more things then you can imagine.
Hope i gave a picture of what is going on.
The visible smoke is actually a very fine particulate that will wash out with rain. There arennt any really weird chemicals left after they ignite that weren't already in nature.
I was waiting for this question. No hydrocarbons. The problem with fossil fuels is not the fuel itself, but the fact that combustion engines run on the premise that they are starved for oxygen. As a result, a nice explosion in the combustion chamber, but also unburned fuel.
Also without particles in the atmosphere, clouds would NOT form. They need impurities in the air to cling to.
I think not only the july 4th, each day contributes to the global warming problems, but i don't think so that the lighting firework's smoke will effect so much,,,,,,,,,
Fireworks release an insignificant amount of carbon dioxide. They also may release potassium perchlorate and heavy metals, which could harm aquatic life.
By the way, the ozone layer is healing itself because of the Montreal Protocol, which has phased out most production of ozone layer-destroying chemicals (mostly chlorofluorocarbons).
The 4th of July celebrates the world's worst polluter but no, fireworks don't release a significant amount of carbon dioxide - compare it to all the cars on the road or the coal fired power stations, etc.
Industry, agriculture and transport are the main problems in terms of global warming - there is a solution without reducing these vital services though, switch the way that power is generated from burning fossil fuels to geothermal power (geothermally generated electricity to power cars). This would be the cheapest, safest and best option to prevent climate change and also prevents the US from having to rely on foreign oil for power.
maybe but probably only a small proportion.
