Pollution hurts anybody that breathes or drinks or eats
no mystery there
And to see a river or a lake full of dead fish is a far more power full message than a quotation on paper.
Even if car emisions do not kill birds directly
(after all they can fly into clean air) ,the secondary effects such as global warming kill insects which are part of the food chain and animals die as a result
Polution sets into motion a chain of events ,not always visible at first
There must be figures on pigeon populations living in cities
check for that.
I know that cabages or lettuce grown in city Environments absorb lead and will be poisenous to many species such as people or rabbits .
Car carbon emissions on high ways also polute plant growth which in turns harms those who eat it .

uh duh air pollution hurts the animals that breath it , and plus the ozone layer disinagrating doesn't help.

They don't for the most part. Unless an animal is breathing right out of your exhaust pipe they really aren't effected and the CO2 emmissions are good for plants the same way oxygen is good for animals. The other emmissions from cars are so negligable anymore they can't really do any more harm then a camp fire - which is probably worse.
