I am looking for sea water consultants that can help with a problem in Cape Town South Africa.?

We have a processing plant with live holding tanks in which we keep lobster until export. We have a problem with ecoli
in the water which we need to cure. Help urgently needed.

Answer:
You will not want to use chemicals to kill off the e.coli and there is a question whether the e.coli is in the inlet water or is building up in tanks from the lobsters themselves. To sterilise the inlet water you can use special UV lamps sold as units for water disinfection. UV leaves no residual in the water so downstream organisms are safe. If the inlet water is fine and the problem is in the tanks themselves then it sounds as though you have way too small a flowthrough of sea water. Hanovia - http://www.hanovia.com/ - is just one of many UV system suppliers. Google UV water treatment for more sources.
