Is biogas really good for the enviorment?

Answer:
yes cause supposbly it cuts down on green houses gases
Biogas effectively treats the organic fraction of waste. The treatment of waste through the AD process (which produces biogas) has lots of good benefits; it leads not only to a cleaner and healthier environment, but also produces a renewable energy source, methane.

And it provides a good use for all that cow dung!
Because of the costs of production, it might not be all that much of an improvement. However, technologies will improve, scale will bring efficiencies, and things will get better.
Methane is a greenhouse gas which is actually more powerful than CO2 in its heat retention properties (Allegedly). Producing more methane would be a bad move if the claims about global warming are true. Burning plant matter is still going to produce carbon dioxide in almost the same quantities. Converting it to alcohol first is simply going to create more pollution while raising the price of corn or other plant matter.

Yes, especially biodiesel since it requires very little energy to produce. Bio fuels take CO2 out of the air when they grow, so they are "almost" carbon neutral fuels.
