Which is better for the environment?

Propane or charcoal grills?

Answer:
There are different kinds of charcoal, and limited use of charcoal is not a problem. Propane is a cleaner fuel, and there's there no harmful byproduct.

The worst charcoal is the stuff with lighter fluid in it. The best is a wood based product that can be used afterwards as compost. Most charcoal products cannot be composted, and the waste must be disposed of as trash.

I'd imagine propane, but I'm not certain.
Propane
Biogas.
Propane is better for the environment, Charcoal is best for the steak. If you really want to make yourself feel better, use propane and a little (teaspoon or so) of liquid smoke to give your food that charcoal taste.
