How much price difference use to be there between organic and conventional food?

if possible please provide category wise difference or you can provide website address from where i can get category wise price difference

Answer:
kelkoo.com will be able to tell you, the above answerer is correct, it is normally about 25% dearer.
I grow my own organic fruit & veg so it is cheaper for me & nicer!
the difference varies on your level of organic buying. most shelve food is about 25% more but it is getting better infact some things are only about 10% more. milk is about double and tomatoes the same meat is about 50% more. prices are coming down as consumers buy more organic. if you dont shop at an all organic store like whole foods then publix has agood selection.
I pay about 25% more for organic milk, because it tastes better.
This is just my opinion, but it's substantiated by the fact that our family is much healthier.

My answer is a qualitative one...by eating more organic foods, we are living a healthier life. That 'saves' money by not getting sick, going to the doctors or buying remedies for what ever ailment that we could have picked up by eating junk food.

When you eat healthier food, your body thanks you by getting healthier, becoming resistent to colds and other odds & ends. The healtheir you feel, the more likely you are going to do things outside the house...tv slips the way side, you tend to walk more, garden more, do yard work, etc.

I think eating organic foods has paid me back more than I have put in. Chemicals in other foods are too dangerous to even consider eating, just because the food they coat is less expensive.

Support your local farmer's markets where organic food is sold. It's usually cheaper than mainstream stores. If you don't have any in your area, Trader Joe's is one of the best places to shop because they don't mark up their prices.
if you watch sales and patronize farmers markets, and you buy in-season vegetables and produce, you can get them for about the same price. Organic vegetables have more nutrients than conventionally grown (with pesticides) produce.
I personally prefer to choose locally grown produce over the
marketed "organic" produce since standards can vary from state to state even some states allowing pesticide use. Scary!
Locally grown produce is considered grown in your immediate area, usually within 50-120 miles of your home.

Also be sure to check your local Farmers/Outdoor market standards, as some have changed their qualifications as well.

A good site to check out is www.NSF.org.

Good luck and Be well.
