So what is up with this hole in the ozone?
Answer:
Haha just like the hole in my invisible shirt. People just want your money, they'll tell you anything. Why do you think we have bottled water and mexican food(it is all the same) because people are stupid. We will buy anything.
yeah..unfortunately
lol
Yes. Ask the thousands of Australians it's affected.
yes..its there and its real..it changes in size with the seasons..its over the Antarctica
Yes, the ozone hole is real. It's observable through satellite images which show a seasonal reduction of atmospheric ozone over the north and south poles. The phenomenon was first observed in 1985, although scientists predicted decades earlier that this would occur.
In 2006, NASA recorded the largest Antarctic "hole" ever recorded.
Ozone depletion occurs when certain man-made chemicals like CFC's found in aresol cans and refrigeration units enter the upper atmosphere and bind to the ozone molecule.
In the 1990's, most of the international community stopped using CFC products, sometimes exchanging them for less damaging chemicals. The issue is by no means resolved, although scientists believe that if CFC use continues to decline, the ozone hole could show signs of recovery by 2050.
The ozone layer is important to plant and animal life (including humans) because it shields the Earth's surface from the sun's most intense UV rays. Without it, skin cancer would break out on all living species. You'd probably need sunscreen just to stand near a window-- and don't even think about going to the beach.
