Do you recycle your garbage?

Answer:
Yes! I live in San Francisco, where we each have three types of disposal bins -- municipal waste, recyclables, and compostables. They pick up all three types of garbage and sort them at the plant.

When I throw something away, I think about whether I can put it in the compost bin or recycle bin instead. Things like leaves, branches, table scraps etc go in the green compost bin. Things like papers, plastic bottles, glass bottles, aluminum cans go in the blue recycle bin. Everything else goes into the black municipal waste bin.

In addition, my college campus requires every classroom to have a recycle bin, and there are many recycle bins outside of classrooms as well. My former high school had a similar policy. On the streets, most garbage bins have a separate area for recyclables.

Really cuts down on the municipal waste and encourages recycling!
The majority of the things we put on the side for pick up are recycleables. If it's paper, plastic, metal, or green, it does not go in the trash. We compost kitchen scraps, less meat (dogs get that), and we even shred a lot of the paper waste for the compost pile as well.

We actively take cans and bottles to the recycle place, too. When we go on walks around the neighborhood, we pick up trash and other items.
Only the stuff that won't get picked up if it isn't in the recycle bin. I don't care what happens to it when I'm gone.
Yes! Since my family started recycling, we only set out maybe a 33 gallon bag of garbage per week. And we have a huge tub (the kind with the wheels) full of recyclables!
I recycle as much as possible. This means ANYTHING that has a recyclable symbol on it as well as food and green waste. I have a worm bin to help compost plant and vegetable matter and have helped institue a green waste program in my apartment building to compost most food waste. I try to keep my actual garbage, garbage to a very bare minimum.
sometimes... I don't have recycling pick-up where I live, so I have to drive to a center to drop it off. I try to do my best, but sometimes loading everything in my car and then driving to drop it off is just a hassle!
I try to recycle everything that I can!
I can't recycle all garbage (esp w/ baby diapers in the house) :-) But, I do what I can with returnable cans, milk cartons, paper, unwanted items that could be re-used by somebody else, Newpapers or magazines, I bring to work for others to read, glass can be replaced, etc. Check out this site for more ideas on recycling :-)
We recycle cans, plastics (number 1 or 2's), glass, and paper.
"I don't care what happens to it when I'm gone."

Is this in reference to your trash or the planet?!
I compost all my organic waste, I recycle everything I can and then I only need garbage pick up once a month and then it's only half a can.
I Recycle, garbage grab and freecycle(www.freecycle.org).
Had a" free" yard event a couple of weeks back.. everything in my front yard was free. Very little ended up still here by the end of the week
Recycle garbage? No. I recycle recyclables. I don't recycle toilet paper.
i recycle everything i can. when this first started years ago i used to have 3 cans for garbage. Then they put a limit on us and gave us recycle cans. I thought they were crazy. how was i going to get by with a limit of 1 garbage can. I started recycling everything i could. i even found my self purchasing only products that were packaged in approved containers. I now have 5 recycling cans every week and only half of my 1 garbage can is used. There is no limit and they do not charge for our recycling so i take full advantage. I even bring stuff home from work or friend to recycle so it doesn't end up in the garbage. we also recycle our yard waste. it has had a huge impact on our lives and we continue to learn what helps the planet
You have to separate everything: Papers, Plastics, Cans, Glass, ETC
Most of it, yes.

I will even go as far as to wash foil and stuff.

Waste not want not.
We recycle anything they'll take in our area; tin cans, alum cans, glass, #1 and #2 plastic with a neck, newspapers. My sister and I trade magazines.
We put our garbage scraps; potato peelings, banana peelings, egg shells, etc on our hay field.
not per se. we do paper, plastic and metal
