Does anyone know how I can get up close to a real live flamingo?

Answer:
Visit a zoo if you have one near great. And go to the zoo's manger and discuss why you would like to get close to one. If your lucky that day he may allow you behind the scenes to see one.
Go to Seaworld or Busch Gardens!
Go jump a fence at a zoo.
At the zoo is the best option.
go to vegas, and visit the flamingo hotel, they have a courtyard with a pond with a few of them there
Hi, I was going to suggest going to somewhere in the tropical areas, like Florida, etc. and I am sure the zoos in these areas would work best. I'd look it up online first though, as they are living animals and may not be there once you make the trip far away, etc.
What I read at this site, it may be very hard to get very close.

"Though these birds are large, 5 to 5.5 feet tall, they are wary of humans and keep their distance. This made them one of the most difficult birds I've photographed. " See link below for the author.
