Does cds cause pollution,if yes then how to recycle it?
Answer:
As Slew says - everything causes some kind of pollution whether directly or indirectly. Although they are mainly plastic (polycarbonate discs and cases as well) they are difficult to recycle in the UK as they are a composite material with a thin metallic layer sandwiched between the plastic. Also collection systems are not universal due to the lack of established markets for this type of polymer - just ask your local council if there are any CD collection points. Otherwise reusing them is the best option - eg.Bird scarers.
Everything cause polution. Manufacturing them creates pollution as well as throwing them away. If you are tired of them, you could sell your old CD. Thats the best form aof recycling. You don't need to expand energ to make the CD into something else.
CD's are just plastic, so they should be recyclable in any plastic's bin.
they pollute as much as the production of any plastic product.
Olds CD's are great in the garden! If you know any keen gardeners, they can use them to hang over the veggie plot to scare the birds off - works for me!
