How many litres of petrol will result in one ton of carbon emission from an average 2 ltr family saloon?

Answer:
1 liter petrol releases about 2,5 kilo CO2 into the atmosphere so that will mean about 400 litres for 1 ton of carbon dioxide.

The reason that it becomes more of CO2 than petrol is that the petrol reacts with the oxygen and transforms into CO2.
