Global warming, how do you feel about it?
Well, today it hit 111 and none of them had anything to say (it was too darned hot).
Where do you stand on global warming and are you doing anything about it?
Answer:
I cant do anything about it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but i am scared of it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Let the non-believers say whatever they want, if you believe in global warming do something about it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I choose to not worry about it. The theory that man is responsible is unproven and indeed unproveable, and the cost of trying to do something about it is horrendous. The UN proposed a program to address the matter; the price tag is $557,000,000,000,000 -- far more than the total value of every asset on the planet.
I stand with the US Senate and Al Gore. No Kyoto until there is meaningful participation by developing nations (e.g., China, India, etc.)
You don't believe Al Gore said this? Check out the video at:

It's a mistake for anybody on any side to try to link short term weather to global warming.
Look at this graph. Individual years jump around a lot, but the long term trend is crystal clear.

Data like this is science. Talking about the weather is not.
Just like with those isolated cold days, a single hot day in a single location doesn't tell you anything about global warming.
Global warming is simply the steady increase in the average global temperature which we've seen for most of this century, particularly the last 40-50 years. It's true that global warming on average will cause more extreme weather events like heat waves, but you can only say that a given heat wave MIGHT be worse than it otherwise would have been because of global warming.
Where I stand on the issue is that I'm convinced humans are the primary cause of the current global warming. The scientific evidence to this effect is overwhelming. What I do is minimize my personal greenhouse gas emissions by doing things like biking to work, turning the thermostat up in the summer and down in the winter (it's currently at 82 degrees F), using CFLs, driving a Prius, driving as little as possible, etc.
I also support politicians who make global warming a key issue. In the 2008 election I support Edwards because he has a plan to reduce the USA's greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050, and I haven't seen any plans from US politicians that even come close to that. We need the government to require a greenhouse gas reduction if we're going to make the necessary cuts to avoid catastrophic climate change.
There is NO scientific evidence to back man caused global warming. The truth is the C02 in our atmosphere represents 38 parts per billion, to raise it to 39 parts per billion we would have to continue our current output for 10 years.
Fact the highest concentration of so called greenhouse gasses come from rice paddies is southeast Asia - why? Because rice paddies produce C02! The fact is there are only tempature records for 130 years so no one has a fat darn clue what the 150 year trend is. Here is an experement for you, watch the local news each night, when that guy comes on and tries to predict if it will rain next Saturday do 2 things: 1) ask your self how can anyone predict what will happen a year or 10 years from now when they can not even get a 7 day forcast right; and 2) make a note of the record high and record lows for each day for 12 months. You will find that very often they are within 5 to ten years of eachother. example the record high for today is 95 set in 1947
the low is 28 set in 1955. Watch the trends then ask yourself if Global warmin g is true why is the record high for this date in 1928 and the record low is 1977?
It is hot, but is it record hear? Doubtfull! I remember in 1980 when we had 14 days above 100 in parts of the nation. 118 in Wacco Texas one day cause I was there!
I saw it snow in Laredo Texas. tell me how we have "global warming if that can happen?!?!
