What you think about heatwave 2003 and 2006?

40 c in Paris, 38 c in London, It is Global warming?,

Answer:
No not directly. Although one can say that these weather events once thought abnormal may not be abnormal because of the variability in regional climate. One cannot use a single regional point or single year to indicate anything.

Indeed the downstream effect of global warming may indeed mean a colder climate in Europe. Their weather is totally dependent on the flow of the ocean current known as the Gulf Stream. At present it flows up the coast of North American and is pushed in the direction of Europe by the Davis Current a cold current that flows sourth along the Labrador coast.

Also related to this is the presence of the Arctic Ice Cap on the ocean. At present cold melt water flow from this cap pushes the Gulf stream on a course towards England. Also present to the east of Greenland between that island and Iceland is the Atlantic subduction zone where cold waters sink deep to the ocean floor to return to the equatorial zone.

Global warming melts the Ice Cap and then it becomes harder to predict where that subduction zones move indeed it may move further north as the edge of the ice cap retreats. That subduction zone effects the flow of the Gulf stream which will change the general climate of Europe.

So Europe will get colder but the planet may get warmer. So you can see that Global Warming or Heating is a curious variable. In the short term those years do point to Global Warming but not directly.

What one should use is periods of a decade. The long term average of a climate to point to any change. Indeed the long term average of Global warming points to these warm years to be the norm. Thus the model predicting such events points to such years indeed an increase in the frequency of these warm years.

As the Arctic Ice Cap retreats as it will in the next thirty years if the model is consistent with no change in the Gulf Stream then Europe will experience many more such heat waves. However if the Gulf Stream changes due to Global warming there will be flooding in anything under 5meters ASL and cooling in Europe.

So take your pick of which model. By the way, the weather models developed thirty five years ago did predict this climate indeed there is every indication that the climate change is quicker and speeding up.
It's not global warming, when it's only 104F (40c)? Over here where I live (states) it's like that daily during the summer. We'll get 20 days in a row at 100F +
It was hot, that's all. Why is everything blown out of proportion?

Be realistic. If it was global warming, wouldn't 2004 and 2005 been hot too? It obviously was cooler in those years since you didn't mention them, thus the temperature has *not* been steadily increasing.
Did you all know that there are over 19,000 scientist signing a petition in disagreement with the catastrophic global warming "science". Nineteen thousand scientists doesn't sound like the "fringe" to me. It sounds more like...exposing the truth.
You'd need to look at the whole picture. Besides, in Europe, except for 'exceptions', it has been getting colder altogether!
Shouldn't we look more for indicators like melting ice caps, weather you find 'em at the poles or on top of mountains?
