Can you explain to me, in 1500 characters or less, why i would be wrong not to believe what you do?

Vague, but let me give it a shot. I hate what has happened when it comes to caring for our environment. Because of a few wachos whom many point to as the stereotypical "Environmentalist", a schism has formed which serves to divide something that should'nt be political or "liberal vs conservative".
It’s like pointing at Fred Phelps (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/rev._fred_p... & saying that HE is Christianity. He's not & MOST environmentalists aren't wachos either, they’re you & I.
For the record, MOST environmentalists love their country, they believe business, democracy & a healthy economy should go hand in hand w/stewardship of the environment. They don't have to be exclusive of each other. They’re not anti-American, or "Commies", they don't advocate dumping our cars & returning to horse & buggy...Look at me, I have a Computer Engineering & Electrical/Mechanical Engineering degrees, I own my own business, I'm married & have a daughter, I love to fish, hunt & camp. I pay my taxes, vote & served in the military. But I want to leave this planet in better shape to my daughter than it is now, I want to teach her good habits like recycling, saving that turtle crossing the road & to stand up for whats right, even if it's not "cool". Change has always been tough, I'm sure there were folks who said the same thing about lightbulbs when they were invented, but would you really want to go back to candles? That's what's neat about doing for the environment, you can do "your own thing", look for more efficient ways of doing something, help clean up a favorite beach or park, get creative. Most people decry how young people are lazy & apathetic these days, I think it’s great that there are those who give a damn about more than themselves. 1,477 words, not bad, eh?
I believe in preserving the environment and severely disciplining companies that pollute.

Environmentalists tend to be like right wing preachers who consider anyone who is not of that ilk to be the enemy. One poster here even used the world enemy. So try this on for size. One of the groups that oppose progress toward reducing pollution are the environmental groups. In WV they opposed wind turbines because it might harm birds, in many states they oppose hydro electricity cuz it could harm some fish or at least they won't be able to roam free like butterflys, in some they oppose huge banks of solar panels cuz they scar the land, they oppose ethanol because they say it will keep corn from the poor (though switch grass is the plant to be used). It goes on and on. When you make list of people and groups who are a danger to the earth, don't forget the present day environmentalists who are willing to perpetuate the problem to keep the anti everything lifestyle intact. To accomplish a cleaner earth and to halt global warming you have to dump the current freaked out "greenies" because they would rather have it that way. We are seeing interest in global warming, not because of Al Gore or green groups, its despite their actions that there is interest. To clean the earth will take a broad based approach and not a little group of elitists who like to tell everyone else how to live, but move on with thier SUV, their Chinese made kayaks, their sweatshop made clothing,etc. No more harmful group to environment than the phonies who call themselves environmentalists or ecologists. Part of the problem, not the solution. Yep, thats right.
This guy has a patent on cold fusion clean unlimited energy. I got a dealership for what cost me a little pocket change i spend more on the lotto every week . It could possibly make me millions a year or anybody as far as that goes . If i never take a chance in life ill have to work my butt off until i die and who wants that. I believe what I believe because I have rationalised it and it is perfectly logical and clear to me. If you don't agree you are obviously wrong (from my point of view).

We can't. Do your own research. Be a skeptical, impartial and scrupulous researcher. Don't favor certain data or certain conclusions just because you "want to hear" them. Never believe people with an agenda; look at their sources.

I am liveing in the USA after toxic dirty air and environment ruined the arctic. When I left the air was dark, yellowish, brown and sticky. The walrus whale's and seal's, were toxic, stink and filled with disease's, and the caribou were irradiated and dangerous for long term consumption, from Russian h-bomb testing. This could happen to you shortly, because the arctic pollution is moveing south, and could melt antarctica during your lifetime, and if so you had better plan on buying your home at 200 or more feet above sea level.
Well it would be wrong because you may not know what a person had to do to get where they are now ,some people works hard to get there and some where dishonest. it's like envying what some1 has but not knowing what a person had to do to get it or to get there. hey we all have to make a living.
