On cans and bottles that are recycleable has it written on them how much for each state that recycles. I don't know about other places but my kids still live upstate ny close to canada you turn the cans and bottles at one place for 5cents each. You stack and tie your newspapers and cardboard take to recycle center they pay by the pound they also do same for metals. Car batteries also can be turned in for so much not sure of price since I have been away for 7 years. Its the adirondack part area very large and they want it clean and its manditory to recycle your items.
