When Is Winter?

Answer:
That really depends on where you live. The official first day of winter is Dec. 21st for this year.
December,January, and maybe February too
comsidering it's not officilay summer yet, you have a long wait. Not until december.
the day after the last day of fall:-P
Winter is a period of time that is defined by celestial events and actually has nothing to do with weather or the months of the year. As the earth revolves around the sun (a year) it also revolves around it's own axis (the poles). As the earth changes axis in relation to the sun, different areas of the earth have different exposures to the rays of the sun.

There are 4 main events marked that are based on which area of the earth has the greatest exposure to the sun's rays: The summer solstice, the winter solstice, the autumnal equinox, and the vernal equinox. The summer solstice is when the suns rays actually reach the highest lattitude in the northern hemisphere. The winter solstice is the sun reaching the highest lattitude in the southern hemisphere and both equinoxes are when the suns rays are greatest at the equator.

Given that, Winter the season, is actually the period of time between the beginning of the Winter solstice (that time of year when the sun has reached it's highest lattitude in the opposite hemisphere) to the next equinox (when the time between sun rise and sun set is exactly 12 hours).
depends on what part of the world you're in
The official start of winter 2007-2008 is Dec. 22, 1:08 AM and ends on Mar. 20, 0:48 AM. To be presice. However, I say that it depends on where you live. If you live in Florida, never. If you live in Wisconsin, always. Type in "first day of winter" in Google and you can research more.
Meteorological Winter is different from Astronomical Winter. tiger b gives a good description of astrononomical winter. See http://www.weathernotebook.org/features/... for a good page about Meteorological Winter (which differs from place to place, also)
Between the winter solstice and the spring (or vernal) equinox. Typically in the norther hemisphere this is between December 22 and March 22, but it may float around by about a day on either side.
it varies
