Does anyone really believe that Al Gore is sincere?

Does a man living in an 8000 square foot house with a utility bill of 1000 dollars a month cares about 'energy' and 'global warming'?

Answer:
does he flip flop?
He is power trippin'. How hypocritical can one person be?
politician + sincere ??
we all have our hypocrisies. but, at least he's trying.

i'll give the guy some time to put his money where his mouth is. change, even for an agent of change, comes slowly.
I don't.

If he was sincere he and Tipper would be living in a 1500 square foot house like the rest of us.

It's all political for him.
al gore is full of crap, and he knows it. the more retarded ones are the people who actually believe his bs
Does anybody really care? Clever proponents of the theory don't get their information on anthropogenic climate change from Al Gore, they get it from climate scientists.
I believe he's sincere, but wasn't aware of the hypocrisy until it was pointed out.

A good test of his sincerity is what he does about this. I'm hoping he'll turn the house into a model of green living.
Oh, Hell no, of course he doesn't. He's just playing the Environmentalist card to get the public on his side.
His mansion uses twenty times the amount of energy that the average American home uses. He's a liar.
Its a platform. Thats all it is to him and the many other lost sheep.
Hey at least someone is trying to bring the problem of global warming to the media in an appropriate manner. We have to give him credit for that. Even though most of us are just like him--we say we'll contribute to reduce greenhouse gases but what do we do? Hop into our car and drive to the mall.
No, just sincerely greedy for fame and more bucks
He sincerely wants to be relevant.
Possibly, If he really didnt' care at all he wouldn't have made the movie. He might not be the best inspiration (he's not mine on this topic) but he does have a good point about a few things. Forget about Al Gore you must do what you think is right. Just get educated about it first.

Are you sure those are his heating costs and the actual size of his house?
I thought of the same thing, after finding out that in one trip on his private jet, he uses more gas than we use in months. Also, I heard his house is located on top of a quarry. He sells this quarry, and the process of taking out the material from this quarry destroys the environment.
Just because someone is successful, doesn't mean they lack integrity. Global warming is a very serious issue! He is spending his time and money to let the world know just how serious it is. The proof is there. He didn't make it up.

As far as his utility bill goes, it costs about that much to run a regular family sized home! 8000 sq ft? He must be doing something right.
Follow the money? Al Gore is not dumb. He has hit the jackpot with this man made global warming scam and he and his cronies are going to get very, very, very wealthy and get lots of global power by capitalizing on things are going to happen no matter what we do.
In the words of John Lennon: Just Gimme some truth! I'm sick of hearing about global warming! There is no such thing as global warming and politicians are embarrassing themselves by saying so. In an "Inconvenient Truth" Gore explains that Katrina was caused because of a buildup of pollution? So what caused the hurricane season back in 1933? Surely not SUV's. What about the hurricane season back in 1887?? Did pollution cause global warming back then? Actually in 1887, the world was experiencing a warming period. However the warming period was ending a cooling period which was a record cooling period that lasted for one thousand years. What was the temperature like 4 thousand years ago? 4 degrees warmer than we are now. So do I believe this warming period is called global warming? No. I do however believe that we are warming back up, and eventually we will see another period of global cooling, due to the drainage of freshwater from glaciers into the ocean.

To say that humans are the cause of this myth called global warming is similar to saying the Neanderthals caused the glaciers to melt 12,000 years ago.
Unfortunately there are plenty of people who do think he's sincere. Personally, I think he's a sore losing idiot desperate for the spotlight.
Whats good for you doesn't mean its good for me. Go Al Go
Exactly.

And why is it that - the whole "green living" community knows COWS and factory farms are the number one problem, but he leaves this little nugget out of his campaigns and his movie?
I'm not exactly sure, but we can't ignore what he's saying. It's something very important to think about.
Sincere yes, but that is because I believe his lose in 2000 sent him overboard and he now has the mental IQ of a 5 year old.

He's totally lost his mind and doesn't know truth if it hit him the face.
How can anyone live so extravagantly be sincere about the environment. Really now. If he was sincere he'd build a solar community on his mansion property to house many, not just to support his lifestyle.
Don't believe he is sincere at all and yes I researched on his house versus Bush. For anyone to believe this man who claims he invented the internet and by his own standard of living shows no respect for the enviroment at all..sincereity...he doesn't know what the word means.

Hey Al, why don't you get a real job ( preferrably one w/o hot air).
Although, I can't say that the facts that you state are 100% true, it is a fact that Al Gore's house is too large and that he uses large amounts of energy. I don't condemn the man for taking a stand...more power to him, but i question his motives just as I question any politician. Unfortunately, I feel as though the motives for the movie were attention and money for a possibly run at the presidency...this may be false, but I am not stating it as fact.
There are hypocrits all around us, I am sure every person does something that they say is wrong and speak out against at some point in their life. I myself am guilty of it. I don't agree with Mr. Gore's so called carbon offsets, it is just political rhetoric which makes little to no difference at all. When I hear and read things like this, it really makes me wonder what Mr. Gore's agenda really is.
I believe this falls into the "he's a politician" category, therefore, you can't believe a word he says in any forum on any topic at any time, regardless of political affiliation. However, this doesn't make him unique or special, just more vulnerable to public scrutiny.
Do I believe he genuinely cares about the environment? Sure. It's not unresonable to assume he's basically interested and concerned about the topic. I might question his informational resources, his zealotry and the hypocrisy of your aforementioned utility bill, but I don't think his motives are 100% political.
Al Gore is sincere about one thing. If he doesn't have a platform he will create one. Hes a guy that knows his time is over and that history will not remember his name. Hes doing everything he can to etch his name in the history books. Martin Luther King will be remembered as the Civil Rights leader. Ronald Reagan will be remembered as the president that ended the Cold War. Al Gore wants to be remembered for saving the planet. The only problem is if history does remember him for leading the crusade against GW, it will remember him long enough to see that he was completely wrong.
yes he's sincere -- and delusional
I haven't been to his house so I could not tell you. I do believe that the earth is a passion close to his heart, though. If you want to knock someone, then knock someone who is really doing some major damage to our world and society.
