What are some problems and solutions on global warming?

Okay, im doing a project and need some problems and solutions to global warming.

It would be most helpful.

Answer:
Why not concentrate on how global warming will be helpful?
Stop dumping garbage into the Sea where it rots and creates more methane destroying the ozone! There is enough decaying vegetation and decomposing fish life for the atmosphere to absorb! Find new ways to Nuke it or dissolve it or use as a recyclable feed for some livestock. Even incinerators with enormous filtration systems.
he problem with global warming is that it leads to climate changes that disrupt the way in which humans live, grow their food and treat diseases. this is caused by a shift in the location where plants can be grown and animals can survive as regions become drier or wetter, hotter or colder.

the vast majority of the global scientific community embraces the belief that human activity, especially the burning of fossil fuels like oil, coal and natural gas contributes to more rapid global warming. one solution is to burn less of these fuels by either reducing the amount of energy used through conservation or more efficiency or to develop alternative, renewable energy sources like solar, wind and tidal power.

for a good website, try to union of concerned scientists at:

The problems of global warming include:

- Hotter temperatures
- More health problems (eg. melanoma and other skin cancers, heat stroke)
- The melting of ice at the North and South poles and Antarctica.
- Ruining habitat for polar bears and penguins (both live on the ice- once the ice is gone, they will go extinct unless kept in captivity.)

Solutions:

- Buy more fuel efficient cars (eg. electric cars, cars that run on biofuel, and hybrids)
- Recycle instead of sending plastic, glass, and paper to the landfills
- Stricter laws on the amount of pollution that industries are allowed to give off.
- Drive less. (Walking, riding a bike instead) This will not only help people get exercise but will help cut down on the amount ot pollution. Carpooling is another idea.
- Cars need to get smog checks on a regular basis.
- Mow lawns less.
- Find alternate sources of energy. (eg. Wind, solar) Both of these alternate sources are renewable resources- unlike coal and fossil fuels.
Given the fact that the general conception lies within the depleating Ozone layer, we need only look as far as the Space Agencies and their obsession with determining life or water supplies on other planets.
Every time the space shuttle or any other space agency launches a ship in orbit, the damage done to the ozone layer by the massive burn it does is greater then the damage created by all internal combustion vehicles on earth do in a 10 year span.
Given the fact that we have no less then 3 space ships or satellite launchers going up every year, that means they do more damage that way the all the vehicles on earth do in 30 years.
Unfortunately for the consumer, the Governments deem it necessary to impose penalties or taxes on the average Joe rather then the source of the problem.
There is no doubt that carbon monoxide gases kill people and in the same token are spewed into the air. Government legislations in varying countries, set standards that need to be met in order to obtain a satisfaction of keeping the air clean. Auto manufacturers spend billions of dollars to meet these goals and in the process pass the costs down to the consumer when buying their products. Governments see this as an added tax grab opportunity thus they penalize the consumer even though the product he buys meets or exceed the current legislated standards.
Of course, the monies collected by the govenments for such penalties will never make it's way to the spot in which it's being taxed for and that is cleaning up the air quality. The Government bodies have no quick fix or for that matter a department in place that actually does anything other then monitor the results and collect the taxes.
So in the end, all that gets accomplished is the Governments collect more taxes with no intention of addressing the problems and the consumer gets another shaft by being penalized for buying a legal product. Meanwhile the oil companies continue to sell their dirty fuel products with the governments blessing and gough the consumer for buying their products.
There is no fix up or happy ending. The one thing guarenteed is that regardless of how much taxes are collected and penalties are imposed, there will be just as much if not more pollution coming from countries that have no binding agreement to clean up their act, so in essence, all the taxation is fruitless.except to line the pockets of ruling governments world wide.
