I have a bunch of mixed scrap metal and I don't know what some of it is. How much does mixed metal sell for?

Separate what you recognize. You aren't gonna get a whole lot if it's all mixed. Aluminum sells for about 70 cents a pound. Not sure about other stuff.
It really depends on where you live. To be honest, I've got the same situation (mixed scrap) that I'm planning on taking in tomorrow. It's my first time going so I'll let you know how it turns out.
It's about 40 bucks a ton here..it's real cheap..but better than trying to get the garbage man to pick it up.
Best in my area is to sort as much as you can , and have as small a quantity of unknown metal as possible.
