What is the carbon footprint fir the live earth concerts?

I'm no tree hugger, but if there is concern for the emmision of green house gasses; shouldn't they be forthright and tell us up front how many tons of CO2 are being released as a direct or even indirect (people traveling, passing gas - whatever) result of these concerts.

I also don't believe planting trees elswhere in the world is a sufficient 'carbon credit' (by the way, I think carbon creditsare a joke anyway).

Answer:
It doesn't matter. Green wackos are exempt from their own edicts. Al Gore flying around spewing as much carbon as 10,000 average people generate in a year. All for a single trip for a single h-o-m-o..sapien. Then there's the Sierra Club that has a nice vacation complex in the middle a forest that is off limits to the public. They get to take turns going there to "safeguard the environment." Greenies don't want to put a complete stop to what they deem to be abuse of the environment. They just want to be among the privileged few who get to exploit the earth's natural resources, and shut the rest of us out.

Stick those thumbs anywhere you like - The truth still hurts!!
The Live Earth concerts are going to be very environmentally friendly. For example:

"All electricity that powers the shows will be from renewable sources, either through utility supplied renewable energy, biodiesel generators, or renewable energy credits."

It'll be negative, actually. I reckon there will be something in the range of a billion or so people watching them. If even ten thousand, or five thousand, of those people are inspired to cut back energy use the whole thing will pay for itself ten times over.
The many posts about the Live Earth concerts are absurd. We don't have to stop living to fight global warming.

The same goes for pretending that Al Gore's personal life has anything at all to do with whether global warming is real.

Forget about Al Gore. Learn the science. Get a clue. These are good places to start.
