Wats worse people losing there jobs or a couple of trees dying?
Answer:
this ? is a thinker but go with keepin the jobs due to the fact that if ur a trasdes person and rely on ur trade say like a carpenter were u need wood to work with but there isnt any due to them saying no more trees r going to be cut down ur kinda screwed outta a job and career. listen i know from some people ways of making a living truck drivers and people who clean up train derailments cant use tougher laws because they r already feeling the effects with gas pricesand other things happening wud it be fair to cut there ways of living away from them just because they cause these so-called green house gases.
I'm going to go with a couple of trees dying.
Some jobs will be lost either way and some will be created it is the nature of industry.
Trees don't die on their own for thousands of years. A few people having jobs who can easily find other ones doesn't makeup for killing an entire forest.
I won't ask people to lose their jobs for a couple of trees. If we can enact regulations that level the playing field for everyone though, we can still have industries go greener without anyone losing their jobs. Not easy, but doable.
I go on the side of peoples suffering. Losings jobs is worse - there are more trees in America than when the pilgrims landed
People losing their jobs, people are more important than plants. If they lose their job, they might not get another one and wont have money, then they could end up just like the tree
Trees will die without people and trees will live without people.
Industries will find lots of excuses not to adhere to regulations. They say that wages are too high. They say that government is too strict. They say that they cannot make a profit without the process that they currently are using.
Especially in America, this is not true. We have many smart people here who can make processes that do not hurt the environment. (Some) industries will stop at nothing to continue Business as Usual, including cutting jobs. Many times this just increases the salary of the highest in the company. If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at them for taking such a high salary and not thinking of their workers.
I think a couple of trees dying...you can replant later...
Well, how many trees and how many people?
If the trees die, they'll be gone and you can't bring those trees back. You can plant new trees, but if they were old trees that you "killed", you'll never see them get to be anywhere near the stature of the originals. Probably your kids won't either. Especially if you keep up the comparison and keep killing off trees to "save jobs".
People can get other jobs. There are jobs out there. If you had phrased it as people dying or trees dying, sure take the trees, but for a job... not the same thing. People lose jobs (and die) without laws, regulations, or interference from the trees.
Retrain and adapt. Only a baboon thinks that he/she can start a career at 18 and continue on with it for the next 50 years. Unions in present form push this idea and are part of the problem. Machines always win. If you job can be either eliminated or automated, find a new job, quick!
first off, where do you get the idea that anyone is going to lose jobs?
the jobs in the economy will not be lost, only replaced to much more sustainable practices.
If a company would have to do without someone just because of environmental laws, they would already be doing without them to increase everyone else's productivity, to boost their profit.
the only jobs that will be lost is the scientists that are being paid by oil companies, will lose their anti-global warming "consulting" fees.
also, where do you get the idea that even if someone did lose a job that it would destroy their lives?
if that was reality, and you were really concerned about it, you would be protesting outsourcing.
That is a VERY SIMPLISTIC way to see things.
Thank God not everybody think that way!
Many types of trees live longer than the average person, so I'm on the trees' side. A person can always find another job.
