I'm planning on stenceling some designs onto some shirts, and I was hopeing that one of you clever environmentalists would be able to suggest some natural dyes. Nothing that is too watery, like tyedye coloring, but more like an alternative to screenprinting ink.
I was originally going to use spraypaint... but I figured I'd check what else is out there.
Answer:
Natural dyes have been in existence and widespread use for a lonnnng time.
I doubt you're going to run out and squeeze indigo out of flowers, so why not go to a specialty craft store and ask if they carry natural dyes; that's what you are going to do anyway.
Here's a link in the meantime to a silk screen supply store that lists many natural silk screening inks.
