Ever wonder why Environment is not in the Science Section?
Answer:
The way a lot of people react when presented with facts oppsong their beliefs... The Global Warming debates belong under Religion.
(*claps loudly*) You are my new hero. I better take down my poster of Gerard Way. jk, but seriously. I agree with you 100%.
Environment covers more than science, it covers every aspect of your life, from the air you breath to what you eat to what you wear to well the list is endless, which is why it is in a catetory by itself
I agree with the one above me. Its too big and encompasses too much to be in science. It needs its own category so it can reach all the issues and aspects of the subject.
Because we wrote repeatedly to ask for the Environment to be in a category of its own ,instead of being hidden under science
and it has never been so busy
And only a small part of Environment is science
is all of global warming science ?
is deforestation or reforestation ,science ?
is desertification ,organic pesticides
green living ,organic farming ,water and soil pollution ,sustainability with production, alternative energies ,air polution
water harvesting ,water shortage ,,securing game parks or conservation of wild life and exstinction of flora and fauna etc etc is any of that science
But it is all definately about the Environment
The concept entails everything ,Engineering ,innovation, all of the sciences ,farming, you name it is the baseline of our existance
Ecology means the study of the home ,the home being the planet or its Environment our Environment.
and that is a very general and large concept .
Your comparison is pathetic
there are millions of people working in or about the Environment and only a few of them are scientists

thank you njdevil and kris
actually, it is science--environmental science. you gotta know chem and bio and physics plus politics etc. your argument only comes from anti-enviro people
Has Environment become the Paris Hilton of sciences?
What, you mean one of those lizards, what are they called again ... oh yeah, I remember, the Golden Headed SKANK!
Is that because the Environment discussions are more about social engineering, politics and new-age religion than hard science?
Only for those who choose it to be.
Ever wonder why Environment is not in the Science Section?
Because there is such a large volume of questions on the Environment that other science questions would be lost in the volume.
Any other dumb questions you'd like to ask while you're on a roll or does that pretty much cover it?
It's because of the number of questions that are posted. I think every subcategory has the right to become a category if it grows out of its shoes.
No, but thanks for asking.
If you would actually bother to ask the YA people, they would tell you that it used to be in the science section, but it was so popular that they gave it its own section.
You're like so many anti-science types - you ask a question, without bothering to actually go out and try to find an honest answer, and you think that makes a point.
