CFL or flourescent lamp, which us more energy effecient?

Answer:
A little looking for data on watts and lumens showed me that:

It's pretty close.

Not all bulbs in either category have the same efficiency, there's a range.

So it appears that some CFLs are more efficient than some regular fluorescents, and vice versa. But it's pretty close. Regulars may have a small edge, but I only did a few mental calculations.

Check out lumens/watts here for both:

just looked it up and dont know but it said cfl is just stands for compact flouecent light so my guess is that cfl will be more effiecient becase its smaller size
Depends on the power rating of each.
CFL is a flourescent, so your question is like asking if cookies or chocolate cookies have more calories.
