New York used to be worse long time ago before Mayor Jullian changed things there. When i studied there , it was cleaner then old movies from the 1980s and more police partoling. (this was after 9/11)
I would say California cities, chicago, New York and other high populated cities are.
Califorina has a law coming soon to reduce pollution down 25% or a quarter less then it currently has, it's the first city to pass this law, I think it's because of there pollution there.
I thought it was Sheffield but apparently London is worse than here go figure :)
Paris ... i thought it was dirty ...
In the US its LA.

I read Japanese can't overcome their disappointment in the"ville lumière"; they are upset by the filth of dog shits everywhere, the roughness of waiters, the smelly toilets, the lack of hygiene of people during the heat in urban transportions...
We had to create a special service in the hospital to receive those depressed people (about 100 victims every year).
If you want clean and safe environnment you have to go in high rank hotels and restaurants and drive by taxi...

beijing china, its pretty grubby, its pollution problem is well recognised and as for its hygeine, well dont even go there. belive me none of the cities above come any where close.
Not sure what the city is called but I believe it is someplace in southwest Antartica.
In the US, it is Houston.
According to the Beeb UKs most polluted city is Brighton because of exhaust emissions. According to ITV the world's most polluted city is Linfen in China because of coal fired power stations.
From my own personal experience I would say that Teeside and South Humberside are the most polluted because of emissions from chemical plants - which the companies involved are quick to deny. London is pretty bad too, but I have a chronic lung condition which makes breathing difficult at times because of high pollen counts and pollution.
My city, Birmingham AL just came out 6th worst pollution in the nation & 4th worst for summer peak days.
a pretty nasty rating for a city with less than 2 million people.
