You don't know the answer, I don't know the answer, and no person who answers this question knows the answer.
Humans believe what they choose to believe without regard for proof, once they've decided to believe it. More knowledge won't sway the issue one way or the other, probably until the truth emerges implicit in the outcome.
Consider this:
Everything you believe you know either came from your own experience, what you've actually observed, or what someone told you.
A microscopic piece of the whole is your own experience and observation. Every shred of the rest of what you believe you know came from what someone, usually a stranger told you.
You've spent your entire life unconsciously sorting through incoming data and deciding what to believe, what not to believe. You've made those choices based upon a matrix of preference you've imposed upon yourself just to keep from succumbing from information overload.
But you do have opinions as a result of those choices. Those opinions might be valid, and they mightn't.
I'll predict you've never examined them, consciously asked yourself why you decided to believe this particular set of facts, chosen not to believe another.
But the choice was, and is there.
Everyone who answers this question will already know what he/she thinks the answer is. And each of these strangers will attempt to convince you what he/she chooses to believe is truth.
Truth because some stranger told them it was true and they chose to believe it.

yes it's real, it is happening, though i don't think it's 100% man made. scientists were able to predict that we will have worse storms years ago. and today we have bigger storms, in odd places with a lot of rain or wind. eariler hurricanes, floods, etc.
and while pollution may be a cause - nearly as much as cow farts. i think the earth naturally does this (a sort of noah's ark thing). like ice ages in george washington's time, and the vikings time where greenland was actually green when they landed there.

Although some people will have answers to the contrary, I am certain that Global Warming is true.
One of the best ways to learn about it is to go to the Planet Earth site (That TV show recently from the BBC-which talks about what will happen, soon).
One (some say controversial) place for great info, is, of course, An Inconvinient Truth: A Global Warning. Al Gore give some important info, and also includes some humor to get the message across.
No one has come up with an equation or mathematical model that predicts what the temperature of the Earth should be as a function of time (for the last 1 billion years). We can't explain ice ages or the ending of ice ages or why the temperature of Mars has gone up 1.75 degrees C in the last 20 years. It is interesting to note that the rise of the inefficient gas guzzling SUV happened during the Clinton years, when the good professor Al Gore was drinking mint tea, living in his home that burns 12.9 times the average energy of the average Hollywood Gummo-Marxist actor's mansion, and he never said a thing about global warming. Follow the money!!

I do not know. But people are increasing in numbers, abusing their resources, driving gigantic cars when they do not need to. Then you ask them why do you drive a huge truck when you know that you are the only one driving, and they do not know what to say. The best solution for most of the problems concerning the environment is controling the population.
The problem is there is no proof that mankind has any effect on climate. So it's not really possible to say it's true.

Global warming is quite real... basically Carbon Dioxide can trap a lot more heat, and the more heat that gets trapped, causes more water to evaporate, and the more water that evaporates causes more heating.
If you care about saving billions of lives and quite possibly most of the eco system, you'll convince your friend that he/she isn't very funny, and needs to become more responsible.

It is true. Very very true, but earth would not on fire until all the ice is gone. Look at your ice tea, ice tea is still cool, even with only a little bit ice left in it. It would not start to warm up; not until all the ice is gone. One day (not in you life time), earth will be so hot when all the ice is gone, and no grass for animals, then no animals for people to eat; no life on earth anymore.
There is plenty of evidence that man-made global warming is false. Unfortunately, the media is dominated with the "sky is falling " news.

Well it is a real issue but it is not all our fault part of it is naturally but we are "helping" the temperature change at a much faster rate than it would have if it was all natural.

In science, you can never be sure. But that doesn't mean you let such things cripple you from making meaningful progress. Rest assured though, that the more certain someone claims their view is, the more deceitful they are being.

Instead of arguing with your friends, why not find some common ground - things you ALL can agree on - and discuss achievable goals, and ways you can support each other's efforts in making this world a better place for everybody?
Global warming is true. It's why North America and Europe aren't covered with glaciers, and it's been happening for a very, very long time.

You see, there are many types of groups in this debate.
1. There are the ones who believe and try to stop global warming.
2. There are those who believe in global warming, but not man-made, as a sort of "middle grounds".
3. There are those who believe it's all fake and just a conspiracy made up that involves government money. Also called the idiots who need to do more than read "what they think" is true and need to research on the topic.
Why is global warming so persecuted? Because people don't read both sides of the story. Go research global warming on the scientific scale and you will find charts, graphs, numbers, data that suggest global warming. Go read something like the site of "the Great Global Warming Swindle" and you will see nothing but "facts" that are "proven" by "scientists."
And what evidence do they have to back this up? None.
If you want to really learn about it, go to the EPA's site and read their data. It will give you the scientific data you need to really understand.
Like anyone here, I can't say for sure, but the evidence at this point is heavily in favour. While scientists differ, an ever-increasing number agree that the evidence suggests the earth is warming. While skeptic point to previous warnings about ice ages and so on, global warming theory has been around since the early-mid 80s as a theory that was being taken seriously by the scientific community, originally as 'the Greenhouse effect'.
So while other theories were forgotten, more and more evidence has come to support this one.
The other issue to consider is that those opposing almost always have a vested interest- political, financial or personal. They constantly obscure the value of independent data, data from sources that don't have a vested or financial interest.
Considering these issues is basic to critical thought and reason.
