Can you give me an example of an investigatory project. that is about recycling?
Answer:
well, it depends on how long you have to complete the project. I can give you a few ideas, though... please let me know if you choose one!
1.you could contact the local recycling plant and ask if you can set up a tour, and investigate how the paper/plastic goes from used to new.
2. you could take a survey/poll to see how many people you know recycle. ask the ones who do questions like " is it for the earth or for the money... " and the ones who dont you can ask " is it cuz youre embarassed to take back bottles/cans?...
3.see which soda is bought more vs which brand is recycled most(ask stores in your community to report the sales vs the returns for a week or two)
4.sit somewhere public and high trafic and watch which demographic is the more/less responsable with the ecosystem.
5.compare statistics of your state/country vs others when it comes to recycling...
I hope these help.

Hi there, what sort of sized project are you interested in? PhD, MSc, School?
Also depends where you live - for example, if near the beach, you could do a project on recycling rubbish that is washed up on shore. Near a tourist attraction. e.g. park: recycle rubbish that is left in the bins or thrown on the ground?
Or test a specific product to recycle - e.g. cycles, have lots of parts that could be recycled but many seem to throw the whole bike away and get a new one as they are quite cheap.
Making bricks / plant pots out of recycled newspapers.
These are just a few that I can think of off the top of my head!
Good luck,

You might look into biodiesel. This is a technology that is not known to many, but could easily recycle millions of tons of waste oil that usually goes into the water or landfill. Any cooking oil (like from french fries) can be filtered and used in the engine of diesel cars or trucks without any modifications. A few stations have sprung up which sell the stuff.
American Oceans Campaign did a project where they collected trash on a beach and had data collectors write down the number of items in each category that were collected. This could be a fun research project for anyone over the summer.
