Southpark and Al Gore and Manberpig?

Ok, were all aware that South Park constantly tackels serious issues with politics and current events and hopefully we've all seen the episode with MAnbearbig.

In this episode, Al gore runs around trying to convince people that the whole world is in danger of ending because of Manbearpig, something that doesn't exist and all other characters constantly state how it is made up.

Is there an similarlity here: Are south park creaters trying to suggest that global warming isn't real just like manbearpig? Do you guys think they could be trying to say that al Gores reallife "manbearpig" is global warming and thus doesn't exist?

Answer:
Bingo!

I think "suggest" is putting it a little lightly...
Al Gore has nothing to do with the many thousands of manhours of scientific research that show global warming is real and mostly caused by us.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)
Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut and the first Commander of the Naval Space Command

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

It's (mostly) not the sun:

http://solar-center.stanford.edu/sun-on-...

And the first graph aboves shows that the sun is responsible for about 10% of it. When someone says it's the sun they're saying that thousands of climatologists are stupid and don't look at the solar data. That's ridiculous.

Science is quite good about exposing bad science or hoaxes:

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/atg/polywater...

There's a large number of people who agree that it is real and mostly caused by us, who are not liberals, environmentalists, stupid, or conceivably part of a "conspiracy". Just three examples of many:

"Global warming is real, now, and it must be addressed."

Lee Scott, CEO, Wal-Mart

"Our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming."

Senator John McCain, Republican, Arizona

“DuPont believes that action is warranted, not further debate."

Charles O. Holliday, Jr., CEO, DuPont

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on FunQA.com:

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/scientific_...
http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu... and:

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know... Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point,You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

Dr. Jerry Mahlman, NOAA

"climate science from climate scientists"
That's exactly what they were trying to say. It's a pity though, the bits of the show I've seen were kind of funny, it's a shame to discover that the creators are so ignorant of scientific facts. They didn't even bother researching the fact that the theory is over a century old, which would make it impossible for Al Gore to have made it up.
manbearpig is a old episode its about five years old and still good too
Be carefull of cartoons
those in control are well aware that the masses lap them up
like American dad Simpsons South park
and the really dangerous ones .like Spongebob and pokemon
with these they can mould the minds of the very young
Have you never noticed how many friendly green reptilian looking monster figures there are ,such as the one in Sesame street
One cant help but wonder if the people of tomorrow are being prepared for when the Anunaki decide to come out of the closet

Hollywood is under control by the same people who own all the media ,

supposed truths and realities are spoonfed to us daily and we lap it all up

So we can be sure, that we cannot be sure about anything anymore .
It's been a while since I watched this episode, but in the end didn't it turn out that manbearpig did exist? Maybe I'm thinking of that thing with the Patrick Duffy leg.

Anyway, it was rather unfortunate that they chose to mock Al Gore in that manner. It undermined the global warming movement slightly.
manbearpig doesnt existed but globalo warming does and is avery serios issue with the o zone.. I this got done watching it and now watching little bush. I think that both are funnny since bush is in deep sheat at this time.
al gore may have been the spokesperson for global warming but he wasnt the one doing the type of research that the real scientists were doing huh
I thought so for a while, but have you seen the South Park episode- Lice Capades? It says exactly the opposite. The lice on one of the characters heads are debating whether or not their world (character's head)is conscious and if they should stop doing damage. One of the lice is obviously supposed to be Al Gore and another is supposed to be GWB. GWB constantly mocks Al Gore and says that his plans would cost too much money. In the end, of course, Al Gore turns out to be right after hundreds of lice die in the shampoo.
