How can we reduce greenhouse gasses when the world's population is exploding?

Fuse on the 'Population Bomb' Has Been Relit; While the Developed World Deals with a 'Birth Dearth,' Populations Are Exploding in Developing Nations. What the First World Should Do to Help.. Prospects for stabilizing the world's population have taken a blow. If not reversed, it will have huge economic, environmental, and political impacts. Two years ago, the UN projected that the number of people on this planet would reach 8.9 billion by 2050. It has revised that projection to 9.2 billion. In 43 years the world's population will increase by 2.5 billion, equivalent to the number of people on Earth in 1950. Talk of a "birth dearth" remains true for most industrial countries but the US, with a high rate of immigration, legal and illegal, is an exception. There is a decline in world foreign aid for family planning, from $723 million in 1955 to $442 million in 2004.

Answer:
well it is a large problem, but people in the US are the first to complain about the strong policy implemented in China without having been there and realizin the impact of overpopulation on the environment.

But there are definitely ways to reduce greenhouse gases at minimal costs.
The only problem with this population is that we will have a competition for land surfaces between:
- natural areas (preservation of biodiversity)
- energy use (biofuels)
- food crops
We need to keep researching better ways to produce heat and other uses of energy while not giving up on solving the population problem. If we do not find answers we will not survive.
We should avoid beans. So that parting is decreased.
We should seek to bring developing nations into the industrialized world as your article has shown, it helps to slow population growth, and is win-win for the developing nations.
One way to do this is by developing a new process for disposing of trash. Trash is a big part of the problem and is easiest to fix.
We can reduce greenhouse gases by reducing the average gases produced per capita enough to overcome the effects of an increasing population.
No one want do it any one want stop greenhouse gasses do a lot of walking or ride a bike turn off all light put the room u setting in don't run much hot water wash clothe in cold water
not much tv go bible like the farmer use to when sun go down go bed u live with a 80 degree house cut back on all kid ball game make a list cut cui thing u do
FIRST we need to tempt Americans to sign Kioto protocol, and behave the way they ought to.

American government is the biggest pollutant on the Planet.
Well first the ironic thing is that overpopulation might cause global warming and global warming probably will cause massive death returning the population down to 5 billion or so again.

It doesn't matter! Ok, so overpopulation might be contributing to global warming, but that ISN'T AN EXCUSE TO STOP COMBATTING IT! IT IS NEGATIVE ARTICLES LIKE THESE THAT ARE STOPPING THINGS FROM GETTING DONE! True, true, this IS a problem, but you say it in a way such as trying to stop global warming is futile. Our children will be the ones to suffer.
