What is green belt land?

Answer:
land that surrounds urban areas or suburbanised areas - although it is protected to a degree, that protection is constantly up for review - say every 7 years or so where it can be designated to brown belt land - so can build up on. The protection of green belt can also be withdrawn at any time by the government at the time - thats what is being discussed at the moment - lack of housing.

So the protection is only really the basic protection, same goes for most forms of countryside protection in this country - SSSI - not worth the paper its written on if the government wants it for some reason or another.

Hope this helps
a greenbelt is usually an around around a city or around an industrial area that is reserved for forest, wildliife, parks, etc.

It's land surrounding urban areas that is designated as being left as agricultural, or largely undevelopped. The idea is to severely restrict development on such land and so maintain "green spaces" in the environment.

This may be in order to preserve natural environments for example, or to improve air quality in the associated urban areas, and also to protect the "countryside" in terms of way of life.
you slab it...
Land were you will never be allowed to build on. Its a green area that is being preserved for farming, wildlife etc
The next place your local authority is going to build on.
