Global warming fact? political tax revenue? who paid last time it happened? million years ago? the bugs?
1 If we cause the global warming, who caused it so many times millions of years ago?
Do you think as me it is more about revenue income than anything.else.
Do you think it is part of the worlds life cycle as we know it to melt down a bit then freeze over again as it has done before.with out cars etc, just a few bugs to blame.
.I am talking from a political side not personal.
Answer:
Global warming and global cooling are all part of Earth's cycle, every few hundred million of years the Earth experiences major global climate change. The Earth also experiences minor global climate change.
Take the worst Ice Age: Long before Dinosaurs, about 630-850 million years ago, there was a time when the entire Earth was covered in ice .
On the other hand, when Dinosaurs roamed the Earth from the Triassic period to the end of the Cretaceous Period (about 165 million years), the Earth was in-between Ice Ages and there were no polar ice caps or glacier ice.
Today we are technically still in an Ice Age that began about 40 million years ago and every 100,000 years or so the ice expands and retreats - We happen to be living in a time of retreating glacier ice.
Global Climate Change (be it minor or major) has happened and will continue to happen.
As for human impact on global warming and whether or not we are speeding it up, this argument is less about scientific fact and more about politics - With each side spewing their own form of propaganda and twisting scientific studies to suit their own agenda. Because of this bickering, the more immediate concerns we should be having regarding our environment, is lost amidst all this extremism.
But make no mistake, we are hurting our ecosystem and there are consequences for that.
Global warming? Its bloody freezing and pissing down here!
If you are political - you are not really concerned and u don't really matter !
politically i want to see how they want to help the environment instead talking about it. talk the talk
i do not believe in global warming but i do what they say to save the earth
I agree. But you know its all falling on deaf ears now. Global Warming is such a religion and its so unfashionable to question anything with science that we will sleep walk into a new state of Communism and state control over every aspect of our lives.
Smoking Ban starts July 1st. Just another good example.
Global warming reminds me of the Muhammad Ali phenomenon. If you say it enough times, people just blindly accept it as fact. Naturally occuring climate changes - yes. Man-made global warming - no.
gasses in the atmosphere cause global warming... They were there millions of years ago and were slowly absorbed by life on earth over millions and millions of years they were also released at times by various natural disasters volcanoes mass forest fires etc...
The problem with us releasing these gasses into the atmosphere so quickly is that it's going to change the environment for a LOT of species on earth very quickly. These species took millions of years to adapt to their environment perfectly and now it's going to radically change in about 50-100 years.
You already see mass extinctions amoung ocean species in which the effects of global warming will be the first noticed. Difference in water composition from
A) pollution
B) more water from melting ice caps
C) higher temperature waters
will serve to kill off many niche species. This has an effect believe it or not on Earths entire ecosystem and will eventually effect you in your lifetime.
Rising gas prices are very much based on politics however the real devastation global warming could potentially cause is just beginning.
I can't say what's caused global warming million years ago, I wasn't there and neither was the scientists. We can only speculate. (One theory is that the seabed at some point has "burped" a huge amount of methane, which is trapped deep into our oceans, into the atmosphere which has increased the greenhouse effect and raised the temperature )
What we DO know is that "global warming" in the past has caused mass extinctions of life and that CO2 and methane is so called greenhouse gases which tends to trap the heat. We also know (even the "skeptics") that we're emitting a whole lot extra of those gases into the atmosphere.
If we can do anything to prevent mass extinction of species from earth we are obliged to do what we can, because we are the only creatures on earth who can. We're also responsible for a whole lot of other bad conditions for the life on our planet (like deforestation and desertification)
Not only is there a proposed tax in the neighborhood of a trillion dollars a year, some estimate that the tax would have to be 10 times that in order to get to the level of CO2 recommended by the IPCC. And who exactly will that money go to in order to achieve global cooling?
Could you imagine 10 trillion dollars leaving the economy EVERY YEAR and falling into some black hole? Yeah, that's probably an exaggeration, but the trillion dollar number is a conservative estimate from environmental groups.
And they tell you that even if they start aggressively now to "solve" it, it will take a century to see any results. Wow, hundreds of trillions of dollars, and we're going to give them a hundred year head start to live out their lives like kings?
I think not...
Man started polluting the atmosphere when he first discovered fire. How far back do you want to go
regardless of what is causing the warming, you are correct it is one big con to rip us off, look you now have to pay more for your power as you use less as we expand our power production using the difference. they say it is about markets but its about monopolies . regardless what we did as a human race it is estimated that what is begun will continue has it has, as you say in the past. as far as I understand it warm ages always precede sudden deep freezes as the extra moisture gets sent north and south , read The Biosphere, so you can see for your self how it all works, use you intuition. the politicians have got every one into so much debt through stupid monocapitalist practices that they are fear ful, if people see no hope for future, every one will say stuff your debt lets party or some more sensilble use of time left.
you cannot go around getting everyone into debt , then say the worlds going to end, it is the wrong psychology, so they are saying if we charge you more for every thing, we can save you all , look I want to do a survey and ask, are the same people, who, think by turning off a few lights the world will be saved, are the same as those with religious beliefs. that is a far more serious question than how do we stop the climate warming. I want to stop peple being conned far greater value
Cosmic rays look them up in encyclopedia brittanica Cosmic rays cause atmospheric heating they were suggested back, in the sixties to be the cause of climate changes heating and cooling dependent upon where we were in relationship with galactic central , any way enjoy your life don't let them get you down with their nonesence no politician is going to save th world oh I have designed a measure from which we can all lower our emisions with it .Is called, the Algorythemdescendagraph that is once Al Gore gets his power use down to my level I will lower mine as he does after that, what do you reckon cheers drop in for beer any time stuff the weather,
How much money did Al Gore make from his movie? Why do we believe him? He has zero scientific background.
Err...what? I think you need to get more of a handle on the science. There is a natural part to the climate cycle, where greenhouse gases increase or decrease over thousands of years through natural shifts in sources and sinks (e.g. forests/oceans/volcanoes) a lot of the natural cycles are driven by the sun, or our subtle changes in our orbit around the sun. For the past 400,000 years the shifts from ice age to warm periods are linked with carbon dioxide (and other greenhouse gas (GHGs)) concentrations of between170-270 parts per million, and the change of 100 PPM occurs at about 0.01PPM per year.
We have increased this in 200 years to 370 PPM - an average rate of 0.5 PPM per year. Basic physics tells us this is gonna do something profound to our climate in a very short space of time. The question is what, and who and what suffers in the process.
Cows and sheep don't farm themselves now do they? They are simply an extension of man's emissions, and to my knowledge they don't produce more GHGs than us.
Please stop worrying about every last penny, I'm sure you have enough cash. Instead try to understand the true costs of very real and irreversible changes to our planet caused by humans.
