Global warming question.?
Just from the year 1960 to 2000, the temperature anomaly rose roughly .03 degrees Celcius. That may not be much, but that example spells DEATH to our ozone layer and ourselves. Our polar ice caps may break, melt, or desintigrate any second if we keep this up, flooding low leveled places like New Orleans.
What i am saying is, please, please take public transportation, recycle, reuse, reduce, anything we can do to help save our world. I am not a tree-hugger, scientist, or top-notch personnel. Just an 11 year old kid who wants a better future for himself and his classmates, their friends, and their friends, etc.
In conclusion, our ozone layer is like a person. And that person is very badly hurt. Please, don't kill this person, because we are killing ourselves slowly, but surely day by day. If you can carpool or take a bus, do it.
Answer:
What you don't understand . . .
Is that government is a profit-generating business not unlike any other capitalist venture.
They make their money by solving problems.
If there's no problem, their profits go down. So when they run out of problems, they have to create them.
They transferred education from local communities where your family lives and where people who live around you care about you to the federal government so they could brainwash you more effectively.
Now they're teaching you global warming. Not because global warming is a real problem, but because they know that when you grow up and start paying taxes, they can convince you that you will need to pay higher taxes to them to solve global warming.
Then when nothing happens, they'll take the credit for it, and still ask you to pay more money so nothing continues to happen.
I'm not joking. This sounds ridiculous, but it's true.
.
I'm sorry someone has scared you so much. I'm sure that they were just trying to get you to do the right thing with your treatment of the environment. It looks like you do care, and I hope you will continue to care as well as educate yourself in climate science as well as all sciences.
You know how a mother will tell her child that they could get a cramp and drown if they eat less than 30 minutes before swimming? Well, it's kinda like that. You can eat WHILE swimming, and it won't give you cramps...
Our ozone layer is doing okay. Our major concern should be water. How can we conserve it and keep it away from the big corporations who will one day control our clean water supplies?
Relax. You are only getting one side of the story from the "sky is falling" media.

Well it's good that you believe in man made global warming and that you want to do something about it. However before you go off spreading your warning I suggest you get your facts straight. First of all remember that the melting of the Northern ice cap will have zero effect on sea levels, none and it's not going to happen in "any second". Ask yourself what global warming has to do with the ozone layer because there is very little connection between the two other than they were both problems were created by man.
It's unfortunate that the media including, Al Gore has gone hog wild over spreading the warning because people are starting to tune out the message from hearing it too much so now the message is now starting to getting lost in the background noise of less important things like Paris Hilton and dead wrestlers.
If you really want to know the facts and go beyond simply watching a movie, but don't have time to take courses in the subject, might I suggest first reading the book "Collapse" by "Jared Diamond" and then the book "The Weather Makers" by "Tim Flannery".
Yes, Global Warming is real. But be a realist. The impact is that there will be more storms. Ice will melt. Oceans will rise and climates will change. But who are you or I to say what is a 'good' climate? If you were given the choice to change the weather, where would you make it good and where would you make it bad? Obviously, someone else somewhere else would have a different opinion.
Saving energy, reducing CO2 is good. Dont lose that idealism. But, dont think, for a second, that all of a sudden things will turn around. People will die, be displaced and ecology will change. Enjoy what you have in life and STOP listening to Al Gore... He is in it for Al Gore, not you...
Im not trying to be smart or scare anyone but ice caps are starting to melt and there has already been some of the ice actually break off, and it was a very big portion. And with the ozone layer gone that means a high chance to contract cancer. Carpooling and buses is a really good idea but how many people are actually going to do that? Especially people who have to travel far distances and work somewhere that requires them to take their own vehicles. Anyways thats just my say in it so no one accuse me of "not getting my facts straight"
I thought the depletion of the ozone layer was caused by CFCs, and that is why we banned them.
yes. i agree with you mail an inform me if youre froming such environmentally caring group.
smart comment... and i know exactly how you feel... :) people need to stop being so ignorant and cynical and realize that the world is in trouble!!
