It is ridiculous.
Most of it is simply due to desperation. As more and more attention is directed at Global Warming, folks may begin to realize just how shabby the "science" is.
I like this little factoid about the lake:
"The Magallanes area "has seen interesting changes in the last few decades," he said, noting that the lake itself had not been there 30 years ago."

So what is it, anyway? Are these scientists saying that we should be seeing glacial advance? If they are not advancing, they are retreating, which is what formed the lake in the first place.

Global warming is big business for the media and our populace soaks it up like it did global cooling, etc. a while ago. The experts with PhD's who see climate change as normal variation are not given coverage and are immediately vilified..
Is it scientists or "scientists" who are saying that?
