What would u tell people to STOP global warming and Recycle more?
Answer:
I would tell celebrities and politians that they need to use transportation methods that ordinary everyday people use. Flying in private planes/jets eats up our oil supply as does riding in limos everywhere! Most limos get less gas mileage than that of a school bus! I would tell these same people that they shouldn't live in these big huge houses. It eats up our natural resources to build things that we don't need. It burns more resources to heat and cool and maintain rooms we don't need! I would encourage every city that collects trash to offer recycling free of charge. Have recycling trucks run right behind the garbage trucks. Take the recycling material and offer to sell to product manufactures. In areas that have dumpster bins, I would have recycle bins set up in same area. Recycling can create more revenue for local counties and cities while also creating much needed jobs! I'd encourage car manufactures to produce alternatively fueled vehicles and sell for a more afordable cost to customers that traditional gasoline powered cars.
That would just be a start. As far as global warming, I really am on the fense about it. But I do know that the world as a whole is rather wasteful. The richer you are the more wasteful you are.
Global warming is a theory! I dont believe what television or liberals tell me! Al Gore could quit taking private jets everywhere if he is really concerned!
you silly fools with the global warming... please get a grip
You can't stop global warming (and ''man'' didn't start it). There is a warming going on. Over time it will be followed by a cooling, which in turn will be followed by yet another warming and so on. There is nothing to panic about. The world as we know it will not end. We are not all going to perish as a result of this warming trend. Just about everything we understand to date has a pattern. This wave pattern occurs often in nature, including ocean waves, sound waves, and light waves. All of these can be graphed or illustrated with a sine wave, and as a result can then be monitored and analyzed. In the case of global temperature we just don't have enough accurate data yet to ''plot'' a pattern which would help us predict coming changes. Don't forget, the only accurate recorded data we have dates back only about 100 years, everything else is just theories and guesswork. As far as recycling? Every one should recycle (intelligently) and conserve. It can only help make the Earth a better place. I don't think anyone will deny (or has denied) that!
incorporate environmental issues in the religious teachings. All religion teach not to kill. so, irresponsible discarding of waste material is killing the planet. Worst crime there is than killing people.
GHG is mostly emitted from work, not from home. Also, transportation from home to work and viceversa is a big source of poluttion.
Whatever we do at home is important, but not meaningful enough.
Only companies and governments, ruling on behaviour of companies, can make humankind moves ahead.
What to do? of course: recycle, buy less, save resources such as water, electricity, oil, etc.
But above anything else: Tell your friends, your neighbours, your co-workers, your bosses, your politicians, etc. that we all together must act now.
It is already too late to stop climate change, it is happening now and even if we all would act now it would not be balanced until many many years ahead. But nobody wants to suffer. The more and the sooner we do, the less we will suffer.
The company we work for, the village or the city we live in, the country we are from. All of them depend on our collective will. Let´s use our firm will. Isn´t it democracy?
you are either killing yourself, your children and the world all the work we have done in thousands of years is just gonna be ruined. I think everyone should know--- you know how they have the GOT MILK ads they put celbirties on them so kids think milks all cool and stuff well they should make ads with celbs on them saying facts and how to help stop global warming!
The world and its people are very greedy and needy. The best way to try and prevent global warmong and to help recycle more is by telling people that if you recycle, then you wil get money for doing so. Like if you recycle one aluminum can you get 5 cents. There should be rewards for their doings. The people in this world aren't smart enough to realize that if you recycle then you are already getting a reward. Since the world is so greedy, we have to have something better than that such as money or prizes, etc.
materialism, commercialism, & capitalism are the root of all evil
I think the best way to get people to change their habits is to show them what they have to benefit from the change. For instance, if you lower the CO2 emissions used to generate the electricity for your house, your electric bill goes lower. If you drive less/use a more fuel efficient vehicle your gas bill goes down.
Nearly all scientists agree that man is contributing to global warming. Scientists have collected icecap samples which enabled them to measure data of CO2 levels going back thousands of years. CO2 levels have never been recorded so high as today. So, another way to get people to act is to decrease the ignorance out there. If someone doesn't believe global warming is a threat, they won't do anything to act.
Recycling should not be sold as prevention of global warming instead it should simply be common logic waste of limited resources is illogical and recycling would be the best way of conserving limited resources, i.e to make it add to dispose of it. Both are limited, very common knowledge.
I would tell them:
1. Do not fly private jets all over the place like John Edwards and Al Gore do. Private jets use approximately 1,000 times the amount of fossil fuel per mile as the most wasteful SUV.
People do not need private jets. Private jets they are nothing more than a status symbol that some people like Al Gore and John Edwards and Nancy Pelosi use to tell the rest of the world that they think that they are better than the rest of us.
At the very least if you absolutely insist on a private jet, do not do what Nancy Pelosi did and insist on a 757. Personally, I recommend the more fuel efficient Gulfstream V.
If you feel that you must get a status symbol, get a Hummer instead. It is much more fuel efficient than a private jet.
2. Do not live in a 24,000 square foot mansion like John Edwards and Al Gore do. The mansion is hard to heat and uses 10 times the energy of a family of 4.
Nobody needs to live in a house larger than 6,000 square feet.
Limit the size of your house to no more than 6,000 square feet, and for your status symbol, get a Hummer instead of a private jet and you will be doing wonders as far as saving the planet and Global Warming go.
I hope this helps.
People can only affect the climate of a planet in there dreams. If I could tell people to stop global warming, and it would have an effect, I would cut my tongue out. God only knows what would happen if we seriously were able to change the great design.
Yes!!
First off, I recycle my toilet paper. I store the used paper in a recycled plastic pail with a tight-fitting lid. When the pail is full, I seal the top by applying recycled duct tape to the lid, affix postage to it (using money I earned from deposits on returning recycled bottles I picked up from roadsides) and mail it to Sheryl Crow, with a handwritten note suggesting various ways of recycling it herself. I would normally handle it myself, but she has sooo many better ways of doing things that I trust her to take care of it.
Second, I recycle recycling signs - you know, the ones with the green arrows. When no one's looking, I take 'em down and then use them to post my opinions on global warming, to educate those idiots who don't believe - here's a few signs I've posted on my ignorant neighbor's lawns ...
"Mother Earth - Why Do You Hate it So, You @#$%@?"
"My Tears Runneth Freely Every Time You Use Your Furnace"
"Your Car Kills Polar Bears You Ignorant Moron"
Third, I would threaten everyone who won't recycle with a personal visit by Al Gore, minimum 3 hours of lecture time ... but only as a last resort.
Fourth, I would ask everyone to live as the people who really love the Earth do - like the Australian aborigines, and the Amazon tribes. Harmony, love, and a very small carbon footprint. Sure, their life spans are far shorter, their lives hard and full of physical trauma, their ignorance equalling that of Al Gore, but they MUST do their part as we must. We should do this to protect Gaia, our Mother, no matter what horrors it should bring.
I thank you for giving me this opportunity to stand up for this planet and make my voice heard.
