Yeah I agree it's ridiculous. The amount of lighting they used could've powered hundreds of homes. Not to mention the fact that every performer had to drive or fly to the venues, as well as the audience. Way too much extra energy was used.

Sigh. 'Live Earth' has a link that explains all that went into conserving for the concert. I saw part of the concert and it was a lot more 'low-key' (electric-wise) than any concert, other than acoustic, that I've ever seen to begin with. I know solar power was used and there were recycling bins all over the place.
I even heard a news report devoted Io the fact the artists were concerned about all the resources that needed to be involved and discussed what they could possibly do to use as little as possible. They even are trying to decide what can be done in the future to lessen the wasteful energy used.
Many people who attended either used hybrid vehicles or car-pooled.

if a quarter of the people make changes it will have been worth it
there are concerts going on everyday, so why not have one that is for a cause, stop complaining get your *** off the computer, your wasting energy then turn it off and unplug it. anything that will help inform people and promote green living is a good thing.
i guess in the end, more people will save energy and stuff and it will pay off. i'm convinced by it!

I suggest you go back even further to the early seventies when "all the scientists agreed that the earth was getting cooling and we were headed for another Ice Age".
Yes the temperature of the planet is rising, but so is the temperature of the rest of the planets in the Universe. So tell me are we humans responsible for the climate change on those planets as well? The first clue that there is a problem with the whole global warming theory is that we are being told there is a consensus of "a majority of scientists". Do the research and you will find that there are just as many if not more that say this is nothing more than a crock of sh**. It ain't real folks.
Ill tell you this you are one sick puppy if you hate what those people are trying to do for you your children and your children's children . Yes some resources were used for the concert. But it is very important that the people of the world become educated about the reality of the climate crisis, and that we can indeed change it.
Well, I hear Al Gore the 3rd offered to shuttle celebrities is his Prius as part of his community service, but didn't get any takers.
