Absolutely, and have been for more years then i can remember. In NY till 1989 and then in Florida.. Trying to preserve our earth. i wish more people would do it,and take it more serioulsy to preserve this great country of ours for our children, grandchildren and so on..etc.

My local waste management facility actually sorts our township's garbage.
I try to as much as I can and have been for awhile now. I recycle because it seems to be the right thing to do but they sure seem to be picky on the things that can be recycled. Oh well, I'm still doing it.

i used to just do it because my parents made me, but then i found out that if you just throw out anything plastic it will never biodegrade. so basically anything you throw out thats plastic will be sitting in a poluted landfill forever.
Every chance I get. It saves virgin materials, and the energy needed to mine them, from going to waste and being used only once. It's cheaper and more enviromentally friendly to recycle.
No. unfortunately in Katherine, NT their is no recycling system in place!! Before moving here i assumed everywhere recycled.
Absolutely. We try to recycle everything that we can. The county just started a system that all items can be mixed together. I still bag up all the paper separately though. (can't believe that newspaper covered with catfood and sour milk will be easily recycled.)
We recycle for several reasons.
1- I hate to waste anything that can be reused.
2- it saves landfill space and the longer the landfill has space, the longer it will be before the taxes go up to get a new landfill and the major expense of capping the old one.
3- it saves a lot of electricity by recycling aluminum cans vs. making new from bauxite ore.
Besides sometimes when we go to the dump we find good stuff!
We have trash cans and cans for the recyclables, so it isn't any trouble to separate trash from usables.
yes although since moving here to Perth i am surprised at the things you cant recycle.at home in NZ you could throw almost anything in the bins that had a recycling triangle on it but i find here it is restricted.

Yes, I've been doing it since the days when you did it to be good to the environment. I feel this is still the best reason to do it.
Another thing you should think about is cutting down on needless consumption, of overly processed and over-packaged foods, re-using, and buying used (eBay can be VERY good for the environment!)

I recycle to help the environment. The trash in dumps are already causing enough damage to the earth we don't need them piling up higher when we can prevent it. Also by reusing these things we use less resources which helps us save more trees so that maybe they and the earth still have a fighting chance
I recycle as much as i can to help the enviorment. When we recycle things we are reusing it so we dont waste it.
