Global Warming is takin place due to the usage of ACs etc...does tht mean we shud stop usin latest technology?
Answer:
That may not be what the alarmists are saying, but that is what they are effectively planning. They seek to stifle global production of EVERYTHING enough to decrease our contribution to warming. It will hit everybody hard. The rich will continue to live lives of comfort. The cut-throats will become rich by working the corrupt system...they too will live lives in comfort. The middle classes and poor will suffer the most. The cost of energy will be so high that they won't be able to afford things like ACs. The cost of "green" alternatives will be so high that most will be stuck with NO alternative.
But at least we won't have to hear about third-world countries anymore, because the whole world will be like third worlds are today.
You get an A+ in ignorance.
ARE YOU SHURE ITS AC'S?
global warming is caused by idiots trying to act smart
There is no such thing as Global Warming. Myth BUSTED!
Let's face it. The world will keep growing and growing. It can't stop. So whats the use?
no. I don't know what effect my iPhone could have on the climate but i bet its negligible.
You mean no more Wii's!:(
No, it means we need to invent bigger and better ACs to deal with the rising temperatures.
In some ways yes.
WHY?
Because we are a marketer's dream.
We buy, buy, buy, use, use, use and need, need, need.
Grams and gramps are going to be in great demand real soon, since they know how to do things the old fashioned way.
Some modern technology is good and uses less resources for our necessary items: refrigerators etc.
Not necessarily. Ideally we should return to stone age, but then we'd probably die from the heat nowadays.
Older technology also means less efficient things, like less efficient AC, washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc. Older means less efficient meaning more pollution for less.
If you buy a new appliance, do some research, I know you should look for the logo of Energy Star on a new washer/dryer, and so on.
Not, but we can stop to exist because the millioners and rich people do not want to stop to damadge our planet Earth which is belonging to all people!!!
It is more likely due to talking nonsense and letting out all the CO2
No scientist is suggesting that. We don't need to stop doing things or using technology. We just need to be smarter about how we make and use energy. Here's the plan:

Global warming is a myth.
No, we should use is carefully. Humans are spoiled and do not realize that the more they try to help by making more technology, the more they destroy the enviornment. If we left the earth alone, nature would fix everything by itself.
no but we should be as efficient as possible unfortunatly the usa operates on consumption and not on conservation
THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY IS THE OLDEST !!
Known at the roman time already, the "canadian well" consist in a pipe in the ground through which the air is cooled down before entering the house.
Cost to install: 500$
Running costs: 1/50 of a normal AC (only a fan is needed)
So what do you say of that ? Is going back to an antique technology that bad ?
------------------
You want a new tech ? ok
On coastal area, people are setting "deep ocean cooling", which means climatizing only by using the circulation of deep sea water.
-------------------
Another one ?
Adsorption cooling allows to use the solar energy to climatize using a water-ammonia mixture. The energy cost are also minimum. That is the latest technology
Off course the first thing to do is to have an up-to-date building quality which I did not see in the US.
No, much of the latest technology is taking the environment into account and becoming more energy efficient, or hybrid cars which reduce greenhouse gas emissions drastically, for example.
We each need to reduce our own carbon footprints, but going back to the stone age isn't going to happen, nor does it need to.
Of course...we had no global warming back before the Roman times, back when the accepted form of Air Conditioning was Nubian Slaves with palm leaf fans. No freons, and consumed no electricity.
Not sure the current price on a Nubian Slave is, but try E-Bay. And do your part to preserve Our Way Of Life!
Possibly you can get one of the Big companies that is into removing the jungle for Oil Palms for BioFuels to make you a deal on old palm branches, too...they will do anything for a buck!
And when done, you can ferment them for ethanol for your car, and carbon dioxide for your home-made soda pop!
So now Forward to the Past. Become a predecessor to the problem, and a solution!
The latest technology is not Freon, the gas developed by GM for stationary coolers in the 50's, and outlawed for most applications now. Now we use other gases that are easily compressed and expanded to create cold filled heat exchangers.
I think you have gone close enough to the stone age for all the rest of us. To think you did it while using one of the most advanced technologies available to us, the computer. You could have used it to do some research instead. It is so easy to do. Try it.
Returning to the stone age would put a halt to anthropogenic global warming but would anyone want to do that.
We don't need to be quite so drastic, a return to the last 1800's would be enough, but again, who's going to want to do that.
There are ways and means to continue with our current lifestyle and tackle global warming at the same time. Carbon offsetting being one such example - cheap, quick and easy. An average US citizen can offset a lifetime's emissions of CO2 for less than $100, there are tropical tree planting programs where it costs just $0.20 to plant a tree.
Global warming?
If we all lived in caves, we would be cool in the summer.
Ever notice how many civilizations portrayed in "Star Trek" lived underground? I always thought they presented future civilizations in that manner because it made for cheap sets!
Climate change is reality.
It always has been. Check out history.
How much of today's changes are caused by human activity?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to that, I suspect it is a small per centage but I prefer to err on the side of caution. I conserve, I'm a conservative, I promote conserving. I don't buy and use energy unnecessarily.
Government programs rarely solve anything, but can help if they afre only directive in nature and limited in scope. Avoid making politicians rich and especially avoid giving them any excuse to grab more power and control of your dollar and your life!
No. It means we should create cleaner ways to create and manage energy.
how can we contribute to something that dosen't even exist?
no you shouldn't stop using the latest technology but you SHOULD use the technology that you own until it is dead before you make landfill out of it. buy new when you need new . not because its shiny
