Can we ignore Global Warming at this point?

Sorry about all the Global Warming questions, it's for a project tomorrow.

Answer:
Most scientists agree that the Planet is warming. However, not everyone agrees that humans are causing the warming. CO2 is gas emitted by the burning of fossil fuels and is the main component that fuels global warming according to some. CO2 is also emitted by water, volcanoes, animals and plants, actually humans emit approx only 5% of the total co2 emitted from this planet. Moreover, co2 is only .038% of the total gases in the atmosphere. Nitrogen and Oxygen are gases that fill up most of the atmosphere.

Considering the fact that people in Africa will die because the west is reluctant to build cheap energy producing electric plants in the name of saving the planet is a frightening thought. For some reason people believe in saving animals, plants & Icebergs more than they want to save people.

According to the U.N. the U.S.A. economy will lose about 50 trillion dollars for this hypothetical global warming scare. How many people will lose their Jobs and livlihood? How many U.S. childern will starve? Do we want to go back to the 1930's era recession? And all this trouble for a theory?

So can we ignore it? No. Because it is happening, however, can we do something about it? Most probably not.
Sure we can ignore it. It depends on how much we enjoy living here on earth
Neocons can. They can ignore any fact you throw at them;)
Of course not.

This is not to say that the question of whether it is man made or a natural cycle is not still open. Additionally, I think that the "sky is falling" politicians should be ashamed of themselves for trying to use the issue strictly for political posturing.
no it is better to prevent something than trying to fix it...and now althought the global warming began to show it's effects recently we must react before it becomes worse.for data try www.globe.org.
actually if you look at the facts, statistics and historical references all the "evidence" for global warming is nothing more then cyclical events... now don't get me wrong, global warming or no global warming I am all for saving the environment, stopping pollutions, and protecting animals... but theres really no hard evidence that the climate is changing because of human impact...
I wouldn't say we can ignore it, but I do not think the consequences of it are as bad as most people are saying. Earth has seen natural global warming in the past that completely melted all polar ice, and it was not bad for the environment. There were no polar ice caps in the time of the dinosaurs. The Vikings grew crops in Greenland 1,000 years ago.
Sure. We ignored global cooling in 1975, despite what alarmists were saying. We're still here and doing fine, except for more hand flailers going in the exact opposite direction.

Actually read that article...switch the words "cooling" with "warming" and you have almost the exact same article you might see today. Hilarious. BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA! Scary! ;)
I think it's hard to see through the mine field at the moment. You've got some individuals and governments saying one thing and other saying something else. They all, of course, have their own agendas so it's differcult to know the truth... so I'll go with the fact it can't doing any harm to do something about it eh? It will only improve the situation we find ourselves in regardless how severe it really is.
Global warming is the symptom of a deeper problem. That is our dependence on fossil fuels. We need a "manhattan project" to develop alternative energy. Just imagine what would happen if the middle east suddenly had NO income. Imagine the african nations of Sudan and Nigeria no longer fighting over the oil pipelines and being no longer corrupt evil societies. Imagine China purchasing all of our technology for alternative energy...suddenly there is a trade shift in OUR favor. Imagine clean air.EVERYWHERE! Global warming would take care of itself.
We can't ignore it. The damage that is already done is creating problems all over the planet. The US alone, has floods and droughts, brush fires burning out of control and tornadoes on a daily basis. Nothing we can do will stop this from getting worse by next year and several years yet to come.
Soon, we here in Canada, will be having the same trouble and by that time the US will be in a continuous state of turmoil., suffering great losses of property and life.
We can change it, but it will take time. Time that some of us may not have.

You should never leave your projects to the last minute. We have here on Earth and look where we find ourselves.
of course we can ignore global warming. We always have a choice to ignore or not ignore. We just have to live with the consequents of that choice.Do you feel lucky,''well,do you punk''.
You can ignore about global warming if you can ignore having sex
According to some experts, they say that we still have hope to make a change to slow down or alter Global Warming.
Not me, I have my solar water heater and I replaced the illumination in my house by fluorescent lights.
