Scientist Implicates Worms in Global Warming
Jim Frederickson, the research director at the Composting Association has called for data on worms and composting to be re-examined after a German study found that worms produce greenhouse gases 290 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
Worms are being used commercially to compost organic material and is in preference to putting it into the landfill. The German government wants 45% of all waste to be composted by 2015.
"Everybody... thinks they can do no harm but they contribute to global warming. People are looking into alternative waste treatments but we have to make sure that we are not jumping from the frying pan into the fire," said Frederickson.

Yeah---I heard that, and I also heard something about it also being caused by termites because there are so many of them and how fast they can eat thru wood and all of the carbon gas that they emit is worse than compared to what cows emit from their droppings..

I think all life emits greenhouse gases, even trees at night burn some of their stored carbohydrates to CO2 to live.
Dunno which gas is supposedly released but I think you should take the initiative to notify the IPCC immediately and demand a complete investigation. keep them busy on something constructive for a while!

Yes it is true, the best thing that you can do for Global Warming is to make certain that all plant material is depsotied in a dry landfill where it will not break down.
That way the carbon remains sequestered.

So we need to cut down more trees and cover as much land with concrete and asphalt so plants won't grow. That way the worms won't have any thing to eat. What a bunch of BS.

The premise misstates the global warming theory, this is common in the debate, deniers come up with straw men and false premises then attack them.
Life on earth is carbon based. When it dies, most of the carbon goes into the atmosphere and then into the sea. Some of it is sequestered and turns into fossil fuels. It is humanities use of this old carbon that does most of the generating of the extra, out of balance persistent greenhouse gas c02. Further it turns out that the gas the worms produce is not as potent as c02.

Nobody is blaming worms for global warming. Not even this nebulous "they" that you implicate. The Germans are simply trying to ensure that they don't accidentally contribute further to global warming, as they've determined that these worms emit nitrous oxide.
Nitrous oxide is currently responsible for 0.14 to 0.18 W/m^2 of radiative forcing, or about 6.5% of the total greenhouse gas contribution to global warming. It's a fairly small contribution, but well-known and measured. The reason it's so small is because so little is emitted, since it has a high global warming potential (290 times that of CO2). Thus we don't want to increase the amount emitted if possible.
