Is there anywhere on the net where I can find enviromental impact reports occasioned by NEPA?

Just wondering if there's a clearinghouse for this stuff, especially for the corps of engineers.

Answer:
Electronic dissemination of NEPA documents is up the the individual agencies. Some agencies put their Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and perhaps their Environmental Assessments (EAs) on the web, especially as a means to get public involvement. For big EIS documents, agencies sometimes put documents on the web as a way to save money - fewer dead-tree copies = lower cost. Many agencies don't do it, because of the extra cost and trouble to convert documents to PDF format and post them on websites.

To my knowledge, there is no clearinghouse for web publication of NEPA docs. All EISs are filed with the EPA and they publish in the Federal Register the titles and where you can request copies. Many agencies maintain internal databases of NEPA documents. But all this activity is disorganized.

As for the COE, it can happen one way in one District and another way in another District.
Notices regarding all NEPA documents are published in the Federal Register; however the local office that prepares the NEPA documents is responsible for distributing to documents. You can search the Federal Register to find Corps of Engineers NEPA notices, and each notice will provide information on how to obtain the NEPA documents.

The Federal Register is pretty cumbersome to search because it returns way too many hits. As an alternative, you can start with the Corps of Engineers websites in the office locations you are interested in.
