Quercus publishes Arheniuse Report: Is this a Global Warming Breakthrough?

The Artheniuse Report published a paper today (Quercus 2007:243). This paper suggests they have found a living organism that self replicates. This unamed organism can significantly reduce CO2 by accruing solar energy and converting it to complex sugars. As a byproduct it processes water and fixes nitrogen. Quercus reports that not only is carbon dioxide processed but oxygen is produced as a by-product which could have a significant and positive impact on the effects of global warming if they can grow enough of these organisms.

Is this the breakthrough we are looking for?

Answer:
I think the same organism has been incorporated expressly in the manufacture of my copy of "Design for Living". Funny how such unusual creatures "crop" up from time to time isn't it.

Hey, I got an idea.. perhaps they could help re-claim deserts if we all try a little harder to care.
What do you do with all these sugars. Where in the food chain do these organisms belong?

Remember, Belladonna, that all the CO2 that we release was at one point or another, part of the natural environment. The notion of burning fossil fuels being unnatural, as if the Earth doesn't recycle it's carbon is shortsighted. We talk about how volcanoes put out only 1% of the carbon that we do each year - yes, but if you consider how long they've been doing it, it is the equivalent of 10 MILLION INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTIONS. If the Earth could laugh, it definitely would at our sense of self-importance. And all this carbon, recycled through subduction was effectively "removed" from what we perceive as the natural carbon cycle, but on the Earth's geologic time scale, this is just taking care of "daily" business.

Now I'm not knocking your find, if we can harness these organisms to create an alternative fuel, it could lessen the environmental impact of fossil fuel processing and consumption. We could also use the organic nitrogen and other nutrients as fertilizer.
Your description could describe just about anything. Quercus is just your average publishing house so I can't imagine that there is some fantastic breakthrough that only they know about. Sounds like hype to get people to buy their books.

Here's their website, which doesn't even have anything like an announcement on the issue you mention.
This guy is amazing did you see his underground city ?
i have made living roofs but this guy has designed a city under agriculture and gardens .I once wrote something called return to Babylon, which was my fantasy for a solution to save the planet ,
And here was the blue print

Thanks for putting this out Belladona ,you realize 0fcourse that now you have got us drooling for more of these super Natural ideas. for what can really be called progress for once, in the true sense.
