No. CO2 lasts hundreds of years in the atmosphere, and the amount there already makes it certain we will warm some more.

No, we're already committed to a further 1.5°C warming just with the CO2 that's already been emitted because of the long lifetime described by Bob. The best we ca do is slow the warming to a point where it will be stable and not too much hotter than it is right now.
Plus don't forget that humans and other species lived on Earth just fine before we started burning fossil fuels and warming the planet.
