Here in New Zealand our government was convinced by the global warming alarmists that farm animals were a significant source of methane. Trials were conducted and scientists were set the task of measuring the amount of gas cows and sheep burped and farted over a 24 hour period. I'm not sure what the figures were that they came up with but the government concluded that it was enough to bring in a tax and charge the farmers for methane production. Well the farmers blew their stack and marched on and even drove a tractor up the steps of parliament in protest against this ridiculous tax. The farmers won the fight and the fart tax was canned. Had it gone through and the info you have supplied, I wonder if our government would have refunded the money they stole from the farmers.
This leads to another question. If it is proven that we aren't contributing to greenhouse effect and carbon taxes are in place, will our governments refund moneys stolen from us?

Blaming cows or any other agricultural activity for GW is nonsense because all of the CO2 and CH4 they emit was already in the atmosphere to begin with. If cows didn't eat corn and fart it out, the corn would have rotted in the field along with the stalk and emitted CH4 and CO2 anyway. Blaming agriculture is just another excuse to blame humans. (The real culprit is the carbon being moved from mines and wells to the atmosphere via a combustion chamber, dig?)
