Does anybody have anything against wind generators?

I was driving around looking for apartments and there was a huge sign in someone's front yard crossing out the picture of a wind generator that said "They are noisy!" and something else. Why would anyone be against generating power with a wind generator? Does anyone else hate those things?

Answer:
They aren't noisy at all. It's basically a windmill with wires collecting the energy from the turning of the blades. That person was an ignorant, backwards redneck afraid of change. The only problem the scientists are finding is space, unpredictable wind, and birds hitting the blades.
Well, maybe they're noisy. It's not about the generators, it's where you put them. Some places aren't appropriate for them due to other environmental damage they could cause or because they're a nuisance or safety hazard. But overall, they give you free power and zero emissions - what's not to like?
They ARE noisy. People object living close to them just like they object living off then end of the runway of a major airport. But since most are far from any homes, it doesn't matter.
Some things are hated by the nuts out there. Some say that the wind generators kill birds. Well, so what, the bird needs to learn to stay away from the wind mills. I saw a large wind mill farm when I was driving home from Wisconsin, and I thought they were very neat. There must of been over 100 large wind mill making electricity. Some were turned off others were on. I could not figure out why so may were turned off, maybe they were not needed at that time of the day. But I think they are great.
birds do tend to run into them
They kill migrating birds by the thousands, causing most to go on the endangered list and shut down the generators anyway. If only they would put shields up to prevent this I'd be for them 100%. They are too greedy to spend the money on shields, I guess. Good luck.
I've heard some people say they hate them because they are an eyesore (generally property owner types), and other people talk like they were the most beautiful things on earth (generally people who don't live near one.)

For me, I don't mind their size, but there is some kind of hypnotic or vertigo effect at play when they rotate so slowly, I noticed it last autumn when I took a drive. I'm not sure if I could get used to it.

On the other hand I saw one on TV during the Live Earth concert that was shaped like a spinning column which didn't look any worse than, say, a fluttering flaq or a windsock. I think maybe if the big ones rotated faster in more of a blur they might no be so objectionable to some people.
they take up land that could be left in a natural state

wind is unpredictable, especially if climate change is occurring

they kill birds

I don't hate them but I do realize they have limitations and negative consequences
Everything effects everything else.

They do have a problem with killing birds.

Also, windmill farms have been shown to have a different atmospheric temperature gradient than areas without them. Will this cause environmental damage, the jury is still out.
Well, they are noisy at least if you are close one.
