Global warming cause examples?

Hi! I would like to know of some global warming causes. Preferably simple, yet obvious ones (like Hummers, for example). I know this is probably a stupid question, but I would like to know more. Thanks!

Answer:
cow farts

yes it is a stupid question
7% growth rate. "disposable" anything.
more people and more relaxed emissions controls
to much use of energy for example:
cars run on petrol they produce carbon dioxide which adds on to global warming
electricity
cutting down sos many trees (deforestation)
Methane gas produced by agriculture (i.e., cows), vehicle exhaust, hair sprays, cutting down trees at an excessive rate, forest fires, burning coal (China is the biggest user of coal).
- GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS

Problems:
Increasing atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases that result in CO2 emissions caused by burning fossil fuels (mainly coal and petroleum ) in power plants, automobiles, airplanes, improper building structures etc. In the U.S. alone, more than 90% of Some other examples of using energy and polluting the air are:

Solutions:
Ride bikes to work/school as much as possible
Drive cars with high MPG such hybrids (eliminating SUV including HUMMER usage)
Planning even the small trips to use gas more effectively
Using big trucks ONLY for farm / industry usage
Buying local produce to decrease the gas mileage on such products

- DEFORESTATION

Problems:
Humans are cutting trees at an alarming rate and using earth's resources in an improper manner to produce high $ crops over and over, which does not allow earth to regenerate its strength.

Solutions:
Plant trees in your backyard, neighborhood, city. Be more involved with local environmental organizations to take simple steps to make our planet greener. Speak Up against the big corporations profit at the cost of killing thousands of living species everyday and endangering our future.

- ENERGY WASTE

Problems
We can prevent energy waste simply by changing the way we do the things mentioned below:
Turning on a light
Watching T.V.
Listening to a stereo
Washing or drying clothes
Using a hair dryer
Riding in a car
Heating a meal in the microwave
Using an air conditioner
Playing a video game
Using a dish washer

Solutions:
Use everything mentioned above LESS
Most of the gases that trap heat are released when people burn fossil fuels, such as oil, gas and coal.

Broadly speaking, some of the significant sources are:

- Burning coal to supply electricity to our homes and offices (coal generally produces more heat-trapping gases than other power sources)

- Tranportation, which includes the cars, trucks and planes we use to move ourselves, our food and the stuff we buy.

-
I believe that mankind is only responsible for a maximum of
5% of CO2 emissions, which people seem to believe is responsible for global warming.
Global temperatures peaked in 1999 and have remained stable, since then.
During the period that the worlds temperature rose, the temperature, on the planet Mars, also rose and I'm still waiting for somebody to explain, how we managed to influence that!

The World has always been subject to global warming and global cooling. A few years ago, we were being warned of a mini- Ice Age, which has now changed to global warming.

If we are going to be subject to further global warming, why is the government trying to find alternative energy sources, to provide heating? Surely they should be concentrating on cooling and air conditioning.

The main problem is that the people in charge of the governments response to climate change, are mostly lawyers
of one sort or another and have little or no scientific ability or understanding.
Hope I haven't made that too complicated.
Global warming is caused by natural events such as the way the Earth moves in space and the amount of heat coming from the sun - we can't do anything about these. It's also caused by our activities and in this respect it's our emissions of greenhouse gases that's important. These gases trap heat wikthin the atmosphere causing the planet to warm up. Here's some sourses of greenhouse gases...

Fuel burned for transportation - gas and diesel in road vehicles, marine diesel in ships, aviation fuel in planes etc.

Generating electricity - often this involves burning fossil fuels such as oil, gas or coal and this produces greenhouse gases.

Manufacturing processes such as cement production, chemical factories, iron and steel works

Mineral extraction such as mining, quarrying, oil and gas extraction, refining and processing

Agricultural practices such as deforestation, livestock, manure, rice cultivation

Waste processes such as drainage and sewerage, landfill sites etc.

Here's some information about the sources of greenhouse gases http://profend.com/global-warming/pages/... and here's a detailed floow-chart showing where the emissions come from http://cait.wri.org/figures.php?page=wor...
