That is, there is a point in Global Warming and cigarette smoking when nothing will help, when "it's too late!"
The scientific link between smoking and lung cancer is solid, yet many people continue to smoke.
If some, many or few, find the science of lung cancer too hard to understand and to believe, they are doomed to cancer and we are doomed to fry.
The impact of Global Warming, that is, the maximum temperature the oceans will reach is dependent on the end of Carbon Emissions from all sources everywhere.
Do I think this will happen? Reading your words, and I believe your views are quite common, no, which means that not enough will curtail the use of oil and coal to make a difference. We are doomed to fry. Could the Government force us to comply, probably, but they may not be re-elected. Neither I nor all others over 55 have anything to worry about due to GW, when it gets bad, we will all be gone!
So, suppose 10 years from now, GW increases summer maximum temperature in the U.S. to 130 deg F, or higher, and suppose many accept GW and decide we should do something. You know, it could be too late.
How sure am I? I have worked with more difficult concepts and find this one, not the simplest, but simple enough.

Guess what is threatening tomato farming in California? A "white fly" from Mexico has migrated and is killing tomato plants. The Sierra snow pack melts earlier each year, tracked in the last 8 years. A penguin kind has lost half its population, loss of ice floe shelters prevents growth of krill which supports penguins and whales. Etc., etc.

planting regions have changed - records are being broke almost daily for data going back 100 yrs and in some cases records are being broken on a yearly basis.
but that is ok if you do not agree - what is important is most of the world is aware of this and is actively dealing with it.
and yes it is very possible if pollution were not a problem the earth may gradually warm anyway - just not at this rapid pace.
Country like america are the one who are the main cause of global warming but at the same time they are the one who refuse to signe the agreement to overcome the problem i do not see where the solutions are.
We could do all those things if we all abandon mysticism and embrace reason. There are real answers out there. Real thinking, intelligent, people can solve our problems if you let them.
you can't teach kids that don't want to be taught. If you run on campaign promises of fixing education and health care you will probably get elected, Its been the platform of every person who has been elected to be governor in California so money has been thrown at these two after every election yet all they ever need year after year is to be fixed. STRANGE
