Not enough hurricanes for you? How about flooding?

Answer:
and climate change continues
It seems some of the climate change skeptics who are keen to point out that there have been no hurricanes this year have lost the ability to read a calendar. It is after all July and the hurricane season is August through October (officially it's June 1st to November 30th but 96%of the major storms are Aug - Oct).

Whilst they're very quick to point out there have been no hurricanes so far they're rmarkably quiet when it comes to the devastating floods, droughts and heatwaves that are currently affecting much of the planet. Why do you think that would be?

By the way - the BBC report is out of date and I guess was written after only a couple of days of flooding in the UK. Since then more lives have been lost, tens of thousands evacuated from their homes, damage runs into many billions of dollars and it's the worst flooding in the UK's history. On top of that we had a whole load more floods 3 days ago and then yet more yesterday.
Ontario had more rain in areas in two hours than in the whole month of July last year. No major flooding though. So far the rain hasn't been continual, just intense.
