If humans can't even take care of their own planet, why are we positioning ourselves for colonizing space?
Answer:
What makes you think we're not the double wide dwellers of the universe right now. Except we don't have cars on blocks in our front yard, we have tons of useless satellites and crap floating above us.
According to some scientists like Steven Hawking, we need to find a new home because there is a strong likelihood that this planet is doomed. So I think your thoughts are correct.
We are self-centered and only concerned with our own survival.
While maybe we should prepare to live elsewhere, it will take years to plan for this while we can't guarantee survival thoughout the next ten years. We are facing bird flu, AIDS, drug-resistant bacteria and a destructive culture hell bent on destroying our civilization.
I think it would be best to create an underground survival system.
Well the earth is not going to last forever. Plus the rate at which we are polluting it will make us need to leave eventually. On the other hand homo sapiens are a fast growing species and we need room to live.
that's a good ? idk
Your right humans should stay away from colonizing anything bigger then a moon rock. Look at the horrible things the so called "intelligent" humans have down to the planet. Heck we even manege to pollute an airless void(space) People would over pollute, over populate, and eventually destroy any planet they came across. God forbid there was any life already on that planet, because if there were, humans would kill off anything that was not usefull,so the could take over the planet. And if that life was intelligent enough to fight back humans would fight it to the death, the death of the alien life that is. So I would have to say a BIG NO! to humans colonizing space or any planet. At least not until we can take care of our own.
I once saw a bumper sticker that read "Screw earth first, the other planets later." Human beings are living up to that motto.
