What's the most environmentally-friendly cat litter on the market?
Answer:
Feline pine is pretty good. It's all natural pine chunks, it really covers the smell. I have a cat who lives back home with my dad and we always used feline pine. It decomposes really quickly as opposed to the clay litters and the cat can't track it all over the house. If your cat is used to regular litter though, you will have to start by mixing the pine with regular litter and slowly increasing the ratio of pine to litter until it's 100% pine. If you train them in it from a kitten though there will be no problem.
no cat at all :P
just use dirt. its free, clean, dosent smell and dosent hurt the environment.
None, There will be times you will need to make a special trip to get it. Extra trip to the store = extra gas burned and exhaust put in the atmosphere.
If you have a cat you will be creating much waste ie: cat food cans or bags. Even if you can recycle it all it takes resources to recycle stuff.
Trips to the vet ( you're using your car again I'll bet ).
You know that cat litter fills up land fills no matter what kind you get.
Extra earth moving at the land fill (Diesel power).
It takes the industrial complex to make the cat litter.
Get my drift?
My cats are trained to go outside, so I'm not terrible familiar with kitty litter brand names and all ~ but I do know our local humane society uses a recycled newspaper product that looks like pellets. If no one on the forum knows the name of the product, you might call your shelter and see what they use.
i just got a cat i wouldn't kno but i'll ask my mom
